"pleasant central hotel"
25th September 2013, suea1952, Prestatyn, United Kingdom
This hotel was easy to find, had secure parking adjacent[payment required].close to shops and canals. I was staying as a stopover whilst travelling home from holiday in Italy and would have loved to have stayed longer. The restaurant service was a little slow and the food was cold when it arrived. A glass which had been broken during dinner was still on the floor at breakfast. The young gentleman who checked us in was very efficient and friendly and spoke good English. I would stay there again but would use a different restaurant for dinner.Breakfast was good if a little expensive

On arrival we found the room had connecting doors to the next room, on opening our door we had access to that room, due to the other connecting door being open. The room had luggage and personal effects in, but no occupiers were present. On checking with reception we were informed that noise from the adjoining room would be minimal due to sound proofing, but to close our door, which would prevent access from the next room. When we heard the occupiers of the next room on their return we advised them to close and secure their door.Noise was not minimal, discussions and the TV were clearly heard on two nights from two different languages/nationalities during our stay. The location of the hotel is good for access to Bruges and the car park is under the hotel and charges 8.70 Euros per day. Otherwise this Ibis hotel is similar to other Ibis hotels in which we have stayed and found to be of good value.

Excellent location, close to the tourist sites with basic but comfortable room. Convenient comprehensive restaurant and bar for a rainy day. Handy Carrefour express for a snack or a drink at shop prices.

I only have two complaints really. The bath was a ridiculous size. My husband is 6ft 2ins tall, and the bath was designed for children or hobbits. We like a shower in the morning and a bath at night. If you like having your knees tucked under your chin, and being pinched from the sides in your bath, this is the one for you. The lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room was disappointing. It might be the norm in Europe, I don't know, but compared to Premier Inns in the UK, this was a let down really.Overall, we had a good stay, and the complaints mentioned above wouldn't deter us in future.View management response »
Management responseDear guest,Thank you very much for considering our hotel as "almost perfect". The size of the bath is the result of the structure of the building, and fitting in a larger sized bathtub would limit the bathroom space. I'm sorry for the inconvenience though. On the other hand it's a pleasure reading that this will definitely not withhold you from visiting us again.Kind regards,
"Good budget option in the city center"

I loved the location of the Ibis Brugge Centrum, it was extremely easy to find with directions printed off Via Michelin, no driving around the narrow streets of Brugge struggling to find my lodging this time. As much as I like staying at B&Bs in Brugge, it's not always practical as you usually need to let them know when you are coming or be able to call so hotels are a better option for us. Within walking distance of the central tourist area. Clean, comfortable, free wifi, hair dryer. Parking is in the garage next door, extra fee. Breakfast is not included in the rate so we passed on it. Will definitely stay here again should we return to Brugge.View management response »

"Excellent stay at Brugge"

Excellent stay at the Ibis, Brugge. Arrived too late to dine at hotel or any where else in Brugge. Hotel staff recommended that I should dine at the Black Cat restaurant. Thoroughly wonderful and enjoyable meal. Thank you!

Very comfortable hotel, ideally suited for Walplein and Begijnhof areas, and not far from Markt and centre. Useful carpark under hotel. Features excellent room with comfortable beds and adequate bathroom. Only criticism is the towels are a bit thin and worn. Usefully, has a good wifi signal with free access.

Stayed here as it was relatively inexpensive but they take a €300 'security deposit' they claim this will be returned on checkout. A week later it still hasnt been returned despite calling the hotel and them assuring us they have cancelled it. To add insult to injury they have managed to take the money for the bill from my account! Avoid as 2 nights has effectively cost me £450 so unless you have a lot of spare cash, and presumably wouldnt be staying here if you did, stay elsewhere.View management response »
Management responseDear guest,Thank you for your remarks. I can categorically assure you that we do never withhold money from our guests: security deposits are always changed into payments or cancelled on the day of check-out. This is a standard procedure.Could you please be so kind to send me the details of your stay at firstname.lastname@example.org, so I can personnally investigate the matter. Yours sincerely,

The Ibis Brugge Centrum is in an ideal position for visiting this beautiful town. Everything is within walking distance and easily accessible. There is so much to do & see in Brugge. It was very hot during my visit but as the hotel is so central it was easy to take a break before heading out again. The dinner menu in the restaurant is of many prepared/frozen foods which is not stated as is the case in other Ibis hotels I have stayed in. My request for a fresh meal was provided but I chose to eat out on other nights. An evening meal by the River...... Perfect!
"Great location, good food"
25th July 2013, Chrissywit, Melbourne, Australia
The Hotel in Brugge was situated in a great location, on the main street, very close to Shops, Boat Cruises, and Cafes Restaurants and other Tourist interests. We ordered Dinner which was very good, with large portions and reasonably priced and had the Buffet Breakfast which was also very good with lots of choicesView management response »
Management responseDear Guest,Thank you very much for your positive feedback! I will pass on your comments to our restaurant manager.Kind regards,
