"Can't beat Brugge!"
22nd May 2012, sesnault, Phoenix, Arizona, USA
Excellent hotel, with great location and easy access to old Brugge (Bruges). Very friendly staff, which speaks English, French, German, Flaemish, etc... Breakfast was good, facilities were clean and modern, building was old but totally renovated. Note that the bedrooms were small, because the building is old.Still, would go back there in a minute...
"Ibis Bruges"

I last stayed at this hotel about 10 years ago and remembered that it was in a good location on the edge of the historic centre in a quiet location so booked again for a family event. The hotel is in part of an historic building and has character unlike some of the contempary buildings used by accor. The rooms are of an adequate size for what we needed them for. The rooms were a bit warm for my liking and we had to have the window open, luckily we were in a very quiet part of the hotel. My parents commented on the cleanliness of their bathroom which was not quite to standard but our room was fine. On balance it is a good choice for a short stay.
"Great location, Average hotel"
10th May 2012, Juju410, Hitchin, United Kingdom
The hotel reception and bar / restaurant is modern, clean and welcoming. The staff is very helpful. The rooms are a little small but perfectly fine for a WE. The walls are paper-thin and you can hear everything in the rooms next to you, which doesn't make for a good night's sleep. The breakfast rate of 14 Euros/personne is extortionate for what you get, i would recommend to go out and have breakfast in one of the neighbouring cafes. If I was to go back, I'd probably pay slightly more and stay at the Novotel or similar comfort level.
"Brugge - Ibis"

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our dinner was great and the breakfast buffet had a better selection than most.
"Great Value"

Stayed here before, and would recommend it to anyone.Great location, nice, clean, friendly staff. My only minus point would be there is no hot drink making in the rooms (i like my tea first thing in the morning). But there is always the NovoTel across the way for better facilities. But i was happy with Ibis.Car park very close, very close to shops and cafe's. Short walk to the main atractions of Brugge. We plan to go again, and again, and again.
"Brugge weekend"
10th April 2012, nottingham
Hotel in ideal position in town for walking to enjoy the local sights. Secure carpark (not owned by Ibis) very convenient and reasonably priced. Rooms are usual Ibis standard but seem slightly larger than French ones.Bar served local as well as big brand beers. Zot very good though at 8.5% you have to be careful...Breakfast good with a selection of hot and continental foods. Coffee excellent as always.Midweek prices are higher than many Ibis hotels but Brugge being a popular tourist centre is generally expensive. Lots of eating places but clearly catering for the tourist trade.
"Look elsewhere"
10th April 2012, Doncaster, United Kingdom
On the positive side: very good location, central to souvenir shops and pleasant short walk to main shopping area/squares. Secure and fair priced car park just opposite. Hotel staff polite. However, although the hotel looks historical and appealing from the outside, this is completely ruined when you walk in to the lobby and find yourself overwhelmed by a horrible smell which does not seem to go away. The room almost had potential with original beams in third floor rooms but our room was very small, dark, in need of an update and, as a previous reviewer commented, felt like dormitories/cells as opposed to comfortable accommodation; we literally felt that we wanted to stay out until late so as to avoid going back to our room. The pillows were horrendously hard, small and uncomfortable and, on leaving, we were faced with graffiti on a poster in the corridor. We did not buy breakfast as it was stupidly priced. I will definitely pay a little extra for a better hotel in the future where breakfast is included; it would literally work out the same price as this one if we had bought breakfast at 14 euros/person.In all, if you want a pleasant stopover, don't book here. This was our last night of travelling through Europe and it was not a patch on previous hotels we had stayed in for much the same price. There are much better ones on the internet; keep looking!
"Overnight at Bruges"
10th April 2012, MarcusMis, Remich, Luxembourg
This visit, was sadly a passing one, but is always worthwhile, the hotel is a 5 minute walk from the main attractions in this historic city, and based inside the city boundaries. The hotel parking is public, but inexpensive, and beneath the hotel. GPS systems have no problem in navigating there. The check in was as usual quick, although the local requirments for formalities make this twice as long - it's the local police who require this. The hotel is clean and airy, rooms are adequate for a visitor here. Breakfast pricing as usual in Belgium is way too expensive for us, but a short walk will provide sufficient for this at a couple of Euros. The hotel has no real restaurant, but it's possible to go over to the other Accor hotel in the old square, not to mention the miriad of local bars and Restaurants that seem to be tucked away around all corners of this hostoric city. A great place to stay for an overnight on the way home, but watch out for the closure days, such as Wednesdays, will find a lot of places shut for a single day during the whole week.Checkout was great too, even simpler than the check in. regards,Marcus
"clean and tidy"
6th March 2012, Weymouth, United Kingdom
found the hotel clean and tidy with a willingness of staff to helpthe beds were well made and there were plenty of towles it would be nice if coffee facilities were available in the bedroom but this is not this chains idea
"Hotel is too old"
5th March 2012, Recife
the hotel has a great location and service is good. However, it is very old. At 8 am there was a loud noise of construction in our bedroom that disturbed our rest and the cleaning service entered our room while we were sleeping. The hotel has a bad smell, maybe due to the old carpets.
"Great option for Brugge"
20th February 2012, SydneyAussieGirl, Sydney
We stayed for one night in February. The room was comfortable and although small, it was fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even taking the time to help us book train tickets on line (translating the site for us!) printing our tickets etc.February wasnt a great time to visit Brugge, many restaurants were closed down and the clock tower doesnt open til March. The Picasso museum close to the hotel is quite good.I would recommend this hotel, it isnt in the very centre, but it is quite close, and on the train station side of the town (so handy if you are walking across).
"Good all round value"
10th January 2012, London, United Kingdom
As a member of the Accor scheme, I was able to get a 50% discount on the room. That was terribly good value. The room was fine and I was delighted to find three UK channels on the television. The condition of the walls and ceiling in the bathroom was unacceptably poor. I enjoyed the breakfast, thought the standard of food was good. All staff I spoke to were very friendly and helpful.
