"Salzburg Mercure"

The Salzburg Mercure was overall good, but the bed was quite small and uncomfortable (even for European standards), and it was difficult to get the room at a reasonable temperature. We were unable to cool the room down---it seemed as if the heat was always on. However, the staff was extremely nice and helpful and the location of the hotel to the Salzburg attractions was all within walking distance.

We enjoyed the breakfast and the Thai and Italian restaurants near by. We didn't mind the 15-20 minute walk to the old town, but this side of the river doesn't have much else going for it. The staff were friendly and helpful. We returned for an additional night on our way back through Salzburg.

Enjoyed our recent stay (which was our second), especially helped by the excellent service from the front desk - particularly Elfi. Easy walking distance to the old city and castle, and the Hauptbahnhof - and good restaurants nearby.

"Near the city Centre"

This hotel is easily accessibly by public transportation from the main railway station in about 10 minutes. The building is located between the old city and the station, and on foot you can access the old part of Salzburg in about 15 minutes. Good, clean hotel in fairly quiet location.

"Quiet and enjoyable stay at the Turkish neighbourhood of Salzburg"

I did enjoy my stay, and there is nothing to complain about, except maybe for wasps coming to feed at a linden in the backyard. There is no AC in the hotel, so one has to keep the window open, so an occasional wasp can become a problem, though the hotel is not to blame for it. Another thing, demand detailed billing while checking-out, or there might be a slightly mess with payments, as it was in my case.Overall - a very nice hotel. I do recommend staying there, especially if it is not sizzling out there

"Value for money stay"

We stayed at the Mercure for two nights in late June. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the location is fine, just a 15 minute walk to the centre of the city. The breakfast was very good and we ate dinner in the hotel restaurant on one night, again the quality and service was very good. The room and bathroom were clean but looking in need of some renovation. Hot, humid, days in Salzburg can be oppressive so my main criticism would be the lack of air conditioning but then I suppose the room rate reflects this.

"Salzburg Visit."

A good hotel to stay at. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Information given was very useful. The location is a short walk to the centre and easier to find. I would use this hotel again when staying in Salzburg

"Salzburg the beautiful"

Had a great stay in Salzburg as luckily the weather was great on the first day. Dinner at Taj Mahal restaurant and the walk in the evening of the city was the highlight of the tour. Was lucky to get a guided tour of Sound of music movies locations through Daud(met him through Boshan of Taj Mahal restaurant). It was worth paying him to see the outskirts of the city.

"Quality Hotel, Good Location."

Myself and my wife stayed at the hotel for 3 days in July 2011 and found the hotel spotlessly clean. The people at the reception were very helpful in assistance for transit and tourist information. The Hotel is bit far from the Old Town, but is connected to it by a bus with a stop close by. And the old town can be reached by 15 mins walk as well.Overall, I am quite satisfied with the hotel and the hospitality.
