Wireless internet faster than wired! Convenient location, very pleasant staff and euro style furnishings. Some of fit and finish in the rooms could be better eg mitres on baseboards, glued shelves. Closet adequate for one person. Beware of fully opening loaded drawer in desk - it will tip over!!!!!

"Clean, Central, Classy"

I am a frequent business traveller and have recently found the Novotel Chain. Ottawa Novotel is a great hotel for business, centrally located, with professional staff and rooms that are capital C clean, all things I value when travelling for leisure but in particular for business.

"great value in Ottawa"

For a hotel of this quality and location, this price is currently unbeatable in Ottawa. It is close to the Rideau Centre and the Byward Market, so dozens of restaurants and stores of all kinds. And only a short walk (5 minutes) to Parliament Hill.

"St Patties Weekend in Ottawa was the best"

"Pissed off!!!!"

I am a frequent traveller both for business and leisure,I have never in all my travels been in a position as ridiculous as I was in at your Ottawa Hotel. The first nite we got in a liitle late and realized there was no bureaus in our room,no where,s to put our clothes,except on the floor on the beds on the chairs.......The next day I spoke to an agent at the frontdesk and explained the situation to him,his comment "well this is more of a hotel for business men",I told him I have been in busness for many years and never heard of such a thing. My last day I was able to talk to the front desk manager ,he still was at a lose for an explanation!!!!!!!Please let me know the reason !!!!!!!!!!

"Surprisingly Poor service"

We stayed at the Novotel Ottawa in Sep 2011. This hotel is seriously understaffed. There was a perpetual lineup to see the one or two front desk person available, who were also responsible for answering the phone and would interrupt service to take calls. There is no concierge service at all. When we wanted to claim our stored luggage, we waited for ages for a desk clerk to become available. We were not alone -- several people behind us were equally upset. Very poor. Front desk staff were not informed of activities at the hotel, and I knew more about the Cabaret planned than the staff did. At night the lounge had only one server/bartender. She was overwhelmed, and the bar was dirty and very unattractive. People would come in, wait 10 minutes, and walk right back out because the server had not even acknowledged them, let alone ask for an order.

"Good Location, Good Value"

We stayed in Novotel Ottawa 4 nights last week. It was our third time stay in this hotel in the past 3 years. The renovation last year made our stay this year more enjoy and fun. Staff were helpful and friendly. We will go back for sure.

"Visit to National Gallery"

Hotel was easy to find. It is located right where the main Ottawa's atractions are within easy walking distance to almost all (atractions).What needs improvement is a better signage in the parking garage. The garage is shared with other businesses and at first we parked close to the other hotel! I realize that the garge is run by a company independent from businesses, but their income comes mainly from the hotels guests and a little effort is needed to make an improvement.

"Outstanding location"

We were in Ottawa for the July 1st festivities, were a short walk from the heart of it all - yet close to the highways that took us out to friends and family close byStaff was excellent Breakfast (two kids per room eat for free) was also very good with fresh pastries and hot buffet

"Anniversary stay"

The Novotel is a perfect hotel to stay in Ottawa. Great price, great location and a perfect place to get away for our anniversary. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Will definitely stay there again.

"Central Ottawa location"

The friendly & helpful Reception team set the tone for the vist; comfortable and convenient for my two and a half day visit to a familiar city. The room was sufficiently equipped to cater for my needs; the shower was excellent and the room adequately designed and eqipped. Controlled elevator access was appreciated -- public space generally quiet and well fitted out. Some noise did penetrate from adjoining rooms and above but not sufficient to annoy. View to north limited by office building opposite.Adjoining cafe Trio provided excellent service in timely fashion for breakfast and coffee.

The view to the north and west are limited, but if you are interested in architecture, you may request a view of the University of Ottawa. The University is two blocks away and some of the older buildings are quite stunning.

All was very good. I'd revist this hotel anytime. Actually is our son chooses Ottawa U for his school for the next 5 yrs... we will be visiting it 'many' times!
