great location, very clean, friendly staff... Pricing is a little higher than originally expected but a great hotel if you need to be in this area of town.

Management responseThanks for your review, need I say it again,... location, location, location, whether travelling for business or leisure, North York is a great place to visit.Just want to clarify our pricing, esp for those coming from outside Canada... our confirmations always list the price you will pay... we will always honor that price, however do not forget the tax, they are always on top of the price you see!!Thanks again and regards, Michael.

"Good location and very clean"
24th February 2012
We recently spent 3 nights at the Novotel North York. We have friends and family close to this hotel, so the location was perfect for us. It is also very close to a subway stop. There are a few shops near by and several restaurants. We did not try the hotel restaurant. We found their breakfast very expensive and for the price of the room it would have been nice to have breakfast included. We used the fitness room and it was never busy and the machines were in good condition. Our room was very clean and the mattress was extremely comfortable. Check in and checkout were fast and accurate. We would definitely stay there again.

A good nights sleep!!In Trio Restaurant breakfast is currently $14.95, and offers a great selection of hot and cold items... a great start to the day, plus breakfast is free for 2 children under 16 sharing their parents bedroom. Thanks again, regards, Michael.

"Pleasant stay in North York, Toronto"
17th January 2012, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada
Front desk staff were excellent. I didn't eat at the hotel but the breakfast buffet looked lovely. The room had all the important amenities -- nice flat screen television, free wifi, comfy beds. My only complaint was the very dry air. But it's winter and the heating was blowing so this isn't the hotel's fault. Bring chapstick and put a glass of water on the nightstand.

Management responseMany thanks for your positive review, I'm going to follow up about the dry air in the bedroom. I'll ask the team to check the humidifiers. It is the first time I have had a comment about dry air so maybe there is a tech problem.... I'll sort it.Thanks again, Regards, Michael.

"July 2011 North York Novotel"
25th July 2011, Halifax
stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on a business trip. Convenient access to the subway and some shopping accross the street. Clean hotel, bed was good, pillow okay. No complaints at all. Food in the restaurant was good as well ( a bit pricey though), but to be expected in Toronto, I guess. FYI, I had purchase this in advance and saved some money (it also included a $50 Voucher to be used in their restaurant).

"Good for subway travel into Toronto centre"
20th July 2011, Hemel Hempstead
Stayed here for first 3 nights of our 2 week Canadian holiday. Great out of town choice as direct access to subway taking you straight into downtown Toronto. We took the deal including breakfast which was a real feast, enabling us to take a leisurely breakfast with everything you could possibly want. Large comfortable rooms with air conditioning. Take care with mini bar as it must not be used as a fridge because fully packed and movement of items inside can result in charges. Ice bucket and dispensing machines on every floor. Parking directly under hotel but parking charges a bit steep and we found we didn't use the hire car at all during our 3 night stay as the subway/streetcar system was so good and real fun too! Toronto has lots to offer and we are going back at the end of our Canadian stay in a few days time.

Management responseMany thanks for your reviewand pointing out our great location, right on the North York subway. Just to also confirm that our parking charges are comparable to all local businesses and hotels, however includes in and out priviledges... come and go as you please.Thank you again for your observations.

"Excellent location with easy access by car"
18th July 2011, Ottawa
I stay here once a month on business, and always excellent. This trip was spent travelling with 2 friends and arriving by car. Access to the hotel from Hwy 401 was easy, and then a very convenient train ride to the downtown via Yonge Street subway, which is adjacent to the hotel. Breakfast was superb. Service is always courteous and welcoming.
"Nice Hotel in a Great Location"
14th July 2011, Brighton, MI
Nice hotel in a great location. Direct connection to the subway, as well as to parking, movie theater, supermarket, stores, and restaurants. Also, lots of local restaurants, entertainment, etc. nearby.
"Great location and amazing housekeeping staff"
31st May 2011, Ottawa
The Good: The Novotel North York is in a great location -- walking distance from grocery, restaurants and two movie theatres and the subway. Easy driving distance from the 401. When we checked in we thought we had booked a special that included a free breakfast and though we had accidentally booked the wrong special, the front desk staff fixed it so we could get the special. (Thanks Kesavan!) The housekeeping staff is easily the best I have ever experienced -- friendly and intuitive -- we used up almost all the towels our first morning so when they were refreshed, our housekeeper added an extra set without us asking for it. There is a nice little sauna, pool and fitness room on the third floor accessible by key card. The equipment is current and easy to use, with TVs attached to each cardio machine. Not terribly expensive (you can get it on special for around $110 per night) and if you ask at the front desk you can get a parking pass that gives you in and out priveleges ... it's also a bit cheaper than the rate posted in the parking garage $16 vs. $18)The Bad: No blackout blinds on the curtains -- if you need full dark to sleep, this is not the hotel for you (we stayed in 1406 if that matters). My wife laid a sweatshirt over her eyes so she wouldn't wake up in the early morning sun. It's quite dark, but not pitch black as some hotel rooms are. Super hard beds -- some people love them, not me. I didn't ask to switch rooms as we really didn't have time (family parties) and it was an inconvenience and a pain in the back (small pun) but not bad enough for me to request another room.

Management responseMany thanks for your positive comments about our housekeepers, I have to say it is a pleasure to work with team members who show so much pride in their jobs and recognise the value of our guests... thanks for recognising them. Plus I have checked and you did stay in a bedroom with one of our new beds.. however as you rightly point out it is a personal preference.... i've made a note for your next trip to North York. Could I also add that all rooms do have black our curtains, positioned behind the sheers... not the easiest to fins i will admit!!Thanks again and regards, Michael.

"Business Trip - May 11th"
18th May 2011
This might become my new favorite hotel while staying in Toronto. Everything was top notch, very easy to check-in and out. The location is excellent .... right on the subway line.Restaurant right on site with a good variety of choices and not to extravigantly priced.
"Conveniently located."
11th May 2011, Madrid
Conveniently located in a residential neighbourhood with direct access to the city's subway network, this Novotel is a reasonable option if one prefers to stay away from downtown Toronto. Staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was not crowded and there's plenty of breakfast / dinner option in walking distance, too.
"Great location"
11th January 2011, Canberra,Australia
Located on Young st. above the subway which goes to downtown, The room (2 double) was clean and no too small. The only problem is that you can't use their fridge, as as soon as you take out something from it , you get charged.
