« Enjoyable stay »

We stayed for four nights and found the hotel met our needs very well. The reception staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming,which made the stay that much more enjoyable. We had asked for a quiet room as we had traveller from overseas and we're quite jet lagged, and we were given a room on the second floor well away from any hotel activities, which was great. We didn't dine in the hotel mostly because we had made other arrangements. All in all it suited us just fine.

A tad west indeed. Car required to get there. Slightly hard to spot for a first time visit. More signage might help. Not very attractive from the outside. Friendly staff. Room change required due to obvious smoking by previous tenant. Lift out of order - Lucky there is only 1 upper floor. Excellent bed - firm but comfortable. Strange non-centre position of taps on the bath led to water getting on the floor when showering. Nice pub next door to hotel. I would use again but I don't think it is very convenient for Manchester.

« Okay for the price »

I stayed here with a friend for a wedding we were attending locally. The reception area of the hotel is bright and modern so I expected the rooms to be the same. Rooms were exceptionally clean but a bit outdated. Could do with a bit of a revamp or repaint. Something to keep it in line with the reception area. Beds were comfy enough but the pillows on the queen bed were awful. No extra pillows were provided and it was a bit late at night to ring reception to ask for some by the time my head hit the pillow. The bathroom was nice and clean and quite modern. The toilet is separate and a bit outdated in decor. There seems to be some sort of airtex type plaster on the walls.... A bit 1980s. The bar area was modern and clean but the bag lady didn't understand my request (do you have food) and gave me a menu. Breakfast was a big let down. We had to queue for a table to be cleaned. The manager apologised as they wee short staffed and she looked run ragged. When we got our table and went to get some food there was no bacon, eggs, hash browns and we had to wait for the food to come out. Cereals were low and the juices weren't replenished. I felt sorry for the staff they looked like they needed some help. Overall we had a nice stay. Have to say the rooms are immaculately clean. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Bathroom is modern and the shower is nice. The beds are comfy but could do with better pillows or more pillows. Rooms are basic but good for them price and probably need a bit of a re paint. Overall nice stay. The pub next door is good to. Serves food and is open until 1am. (The John Gilbert )

« Good Hotel: Poor service at breakfast time. »

I've said it all, because the service was so poor at breakfast, wouldn't dream of using restaurant any other time of the day. Not enough serving staff, and not a clue in terms of keeping the supposed choices available. Long waits, cold plates, resulting in cold food.

« Fine hotel but customer service needs work »

I stayed here for a work trip and generally found the customer service lacking. On check in, the receptionist was booking a taxi to pick up her colleague and not paying attention to us.Potentially as a result of this lack of focus she didn't tell us anything about breakfast (e.g. where we could get it, times) despite our paying for it at check in. In addition, as single female travellers I was dismayed that our room numbers were verbally shared at check in, which should be against any safeguarding procedures hotels in this day and age should have. On trying to order room service (as I was working through dinner), I had to phone 6 times over a period of approx 35 mins to get through to someone to take my order. I was then told that they were unable to deliver my order as the credit card I had registered to pay for extras hadn't been applied to my account. I therefore had to go downstairs to collect the food to pay (despite my asking if I could just not pay on check out - the answer was no!). I then had to ask for the room delivery/tray charge to be removed as it wasn't delivered!. I was then quite disappointed with what was provided food wise. I ordered salmon with hollandaise sauce and tenderstem broccoli and was instead provided with an overcooked salmon with standard broccoli and a congealed slab of packet hollandaise sauce. My additional veg consisted on unwashed carrots and undercooked cauliflower. When checking out, I was asked about how I found my stay and when I said that I had some issues regarding my dinner, the person checking me out simply said that he was sorry to hear that and then just left it at that! I don't think it is my role to chase providing this feedback and would have hoped it could have been at least referred to someone who cared? This is such a shame as the hotel itself if quite nice with spacious rooms and good facilities but food and customer service is such an important part of the experience so hope this feedback is taken constructively.

« Clean comfortable quiet »

This hotel is always consistently clean quiet and comfortable. The staff are particularly good and non intrusive and polite. I have stayed here on many occasions and have never been disappointed with any aspect of our stay it always runs smooth!

« Great customer service »

We were a large family group with 7 rooms booked. All details were correct and rooms assigned with no issues. Staff wee extremely helpful throughout our stay of 9 nights. Clean and comfortable rooms which were maintained daily.

« Ok hotel »

Hotel was easy to find from the M6. Quick check in and very friendly staff. Room was basic but ok for a nights stay. The room did get very hot on the night and there was no fans or av available. We stayed mid week and was supposed at how noisy the hotel was. People could be heard talking outside till 3 in the morning and the sound of the road was very apparent. Breakfast was very basic and not worth the money paid, better to eat out. Wi-fi very slow and frustrating. We found the pub next to the hotel to be very busy but expensive and over priced. Overall probably wouldn't stay again, but handy for airport and a one night stop over.

« Well placed for a stopover just off the motorway »

Very handy for the M6 and M62, but in its own grounds so not subject to noticeable traffic noise. Several restaurants and food-led pubs in the Worsley area if not planning to eat at the hotel. Nothing special about the rooms or facilities, but does its job well enough overall.

« Novotel Manchester West »

The hotel is well located and plenty of parking space - the staff are friendly and the general cleanliness was excellent. The eating experience was a little disappointing with the sirloin steak being very tough and tasteless. A little more seasoning would have helped but not rescued the meal. Two of the options on the main courses had sold out before 20.00 so get in early if you want more choice.

« Simple but excellent hotel with wonderful service »

We stayed for a friend's wedding and just needed somewhere cheap and close by. The rooms were simple and clean. Beds comfy and shower excellent. The staff were all lovely. They couldn't do enough to help, from ordering us a taxi, to pointing out where to go for a lovely walk along the canal (5 mins walk away) to the service at breakfast. The brekky was really good. Impeccable.
