"Convenient airport hotel"

Good service, clean and conveniently located near the airport. Small gym.Friendly staff. Didn't stay long enough to try the restaurantHelpful shuttle and driver service to our office which is close by.

I love the Sofitel Hotel. The Jr Suites are excellent for meetings and overnight stays. The service is first class. The location is at the airport, and it is convenient to the Miami freeways. The amenities are excellent. The Sofitel Miami is usually my first choices. My compliments to the management of the Hotel and the Accor organization.

"Love the atmosphere"

We love the Sofitel Miami even when we aren't flying! We stayed overnight on a recent trip to Miami for medical reasons. It was wonderful to pretend we were "someplace else"! Everyone greets you with "Bon Jour". The clientele is interesting, the food at the restaurant excellent (lunch, dinner and breakfast). The staff are personable and helpful.The room decor is not the standard cookie cutter but rather elegant and retro. Our room could use a little tweaking, but all the amenities are there and it is spacious. Free self parking as well as shuttle to the airport (for next time). We will be back!

"VERY SHORT LAYOVER"

I booked this hotel because we had a flight layover at MIA and it is a nice hotel with shuttle srvice. (It ended up only being 4 hours because of airline problems). Prior to booking i confirmed the shuttle service directly with the hotel. Day of departure I called to reconfirm only to be told the shuttle no longer runs late at night and to take a cab. I protested and was given the manager to talk to. He said to take a cab, get a receipt and we would be reimbursed. We ended up arriving at 4:30 AM, got a cab, got a receipt, and presented the receipt at check in. The clerk on duty seemed surprised, but took it and returned my money. Room was fine, beds were great and shuttle back was uneventful. Ended up giving the keys to the concierge for check out because there was one clerk at the desk and 6 people waiting to check out. Don't have a receipt, but the charges to the card were correct.

Hotel was satisfactory, downside was having to pay per day to park your vehicle. This should be free when you are staying at the hotel. Eating in the hotel is rather expensive. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.

"Nice hotel near airport meeting Sofitel high quality standard"

The main assets of this hotel are the quality of service (very friendly staff) and Sofitel standard which guarantees a good sleep quality. You have also restaurants, fitness, pool (but unfortunately not heated so too cold in February) and parking. I thought the decoration at floors could be better but that's not very important. I cannot comment on location as i did not need a hotel near airport so would have preferred another location. So in summary it is a nice 4 star hotel, not exceptional, but you should be pleased staying there.

"Super Bowl Sunday at MIA"

I was not looking forward to staying in a hotel for Super Bowl Sunday. But, the Sofitel set up a large screen in the bar area and had food specials! It really was a small gesture on their part that made it a great atmosphere. I stayed in a suite and it was very clean in the bathroom, living and sleeping rooms. The view was also very nice overlooking the airport, The windows have extremely good sound attenuation so there was no obtrusive sound from the outside. My bedroom window also opened which is nice. This hotel is as pricey as others in the area but a much better choice. I stayed at the Double Tree three days earlier, Jan 31-Feb 1, and had planned to stay for these nights too, but the DoubleTree was under construction with construction dust from jackhammers, unpleasant, unclean, and so I changed to the Sofitel. Glad I did!

While this is difficult to believe, yes, you can get good service and attention to proper people handling in a hotel in Miami. This was my experience at the Sofitel in Miami, where I needed to stay close to the airport.Hotel is not the newest, but it has all the comfort and sleep quality I could expect. I have stayed with the chain in Asia, where hotels are good value.

it was expensive...but i like the area and the service we received. It was close the the miami airport and close to the cruise port. The workers were very polite and helpful. This is my second time staying at the sofitel.

Overall I liked the hotel. The staff went out of the way to make sure I was taken care of. However, the one thing that was missing caused me a restless night of sleep. I retired to bed around 11:30 pm and found there was no sheet on my bed. There was a flat sheet and comforter but no cover sheet. Since it was late and I was tired, I quickly did the math in my head and realized it would be another 10-15 minutes for housekeeping to get there, I'd have to get dressed, and then make the bed properly. After all of that, I'd be wide awake again, and it'd be an hour later. I opted to try it without the sheet. As a result, I tossed and turned all night not having the warmth I was used to and woke up upset at myself that I didn't make the call. I arrived at my interview not fully rested and I felt it. Next time I'll make that call and say something about it.

"No bathrobe or slippers provided as per norm"

On par with other Sofitels but disappointed bathrobe and slippers were not provided as per normal in Sofitels. Even though the hotel is located next to airport, still had to pay $15 taxi fare. Surprised all American breakfast was not buffet style as per normal in large hotels. Carpet in restaurant needs to be refurbished.
