"A night overlooking Amboise."

Nice hotel with a super view and a really lovely pool with great view of Amboise and the chateau. Difficult to find initially - staff helpful and food good.
"Excellent location for Loire Valley Castles Visit"

We are a family of 4 with 1 grandma. The hotel was excellent although we used it just for sleep purposes; It was nice to arrive to a nice and clean environment after a long day of driving around the different sites in the Loire valley. The location was excellent as the center for this kind of visit. 40mins from the most eastern & western castles as well as extremely close to the most important one: Chenonceau. We found a very nice patisserie and a supermarket just 5' mins from the hotel where we could buy all we needed for us.

Once more the Amboise Novotel provided use with an excellent room and enjoyable meals in their restaurant. There is meant to be a daily menu which shoulkd alter every day but regretably this was not the case. Anyway for two nights it did not matter.

This booking was made to enjoy our last days in France. Arriving at the Hotel, the front desk recepcionist allocated us to a room for special people with special needs. Saying this, the bathroom was quite odd because we had no curtains or shower doors to separate from the sink and toilet. I asked them to change rooms and they put us on a smoking room (we're non smoking). Well, after this, whenever we asked for informations we had the impression that we were bothering them soooooo much that we had to start by " excuse me, would you mind telling me how..." but not even a smile. Well, we're on hollidays so we expect at least a little bit of kindness and attention.The next morning I went downstairs for the breakfast and when I asked where was it the front desk guy told me it was closed (9:40) - I said : Pardon??? and he replied : you can talk to my coleague. Getting to the breakfast area no "coleague" was available though I tried to ask for help but the were tooooooooo busy cleaning the tables. I felt horrible. I looked around and saw people having breakfast, grabbing a cake or an yogurt and I was standing there like a statue without knowing what to do. A lady passed by me so I asked what time was it and till when the breakfast was served and she said till 10:00 and told me to take things from the tables that were left. So I did but feeling very bad. I took coffe and milk from one table, a mug from another one, spoon,knife and fork from another one and settle my own table but with no cloth. I felt small, like if I was an intruder. When I finally sat to start my breakfast my husband arrived. He thought it was unaceptable and called the waiter strait away as asked him to set a table so we could have a breakfast. It was the worst experience I ever had in a hotel.The room cleaning was ok but they didn't replace the shampoo that we ran out.Again, when we asked for any kind of help at the front desk it was quite hard to have a good information. People there are absolutely useless and unhelpfull. It's a shame as the hotel itself is quite good
"Good hotel but poor restaurant"

The Novotel Amboise is a well located very clean and well kept. The only negative comment would be related to the restaurant where the service was not so good. For example we had dinner and the plates were not properly prepared without sauces. The meat was not good quality. Other than that we would recommend the hotel.
