(Parma centro) Not the best Novotel - poor standards

Overall poor quality not to the standard of Novotel Brand. Poor standard breakfast - at 9 am Food cold - freezing cold scrambled eggs Asked over and over for bacon still not replenished Restaurant staff were just stood about Had 10 people in so not busy Rooms - aircon wouldn’t work Fridges not switched on I drank an apple juice realised it wasn’t good after drinking half of it seemed to have been there a long time when you saw the sediment in the bottom of bottle WiFi - horrendous and we are only non first floor. Generally untidy around hotel - life hasn’t been hoovered for a couple of days as same mess on floor welcomes you Location - great Reception and bar staff great Lots of shops around Close to bust stops

A lovely two day stay in Parma Novotel Centro. Staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant, bar service in particular very attentive and knowledgeable. Ideally situated to be able to walk to the city centre and enjoy the historical landmarks and museums.

Novotel Parma was a perfect hotel for our needs. I did not want to be in the historic area,ZTL area. From what I read at most of the historic towns the ZTL zones are areas to steer clear of with a car. This was an easy direct access from where we traveled from and it had a parking garage. Yes, the garage is tight but honestly I have not been in a spacious garage wherever we have traveled in Europe. It was walking distance to the historic center and convenient to the road system for our ride to Borgo del Gazzano Parmesan Caseificio & the Museum of Parmesan. The staff was cordial at the desk and we really enjoyed sitting in the lounge area after our dinners in town and having a cocktail & glass of wine. The bartender was very friendly. Room was clean, breakfast was satisfying and I do not have one complaint about our stay.

Worst Novotel Experience ever

This must have been the worst Novotel I have been too due to the team there. Rudeness at all levels. Incorrect billing and forcing a platinum member to pay for breakfast for 2 people for one night, when it was not in the booking and we were 7 of us in 3 rooms for 2 nights - showed our booking details but they insisted that their system showed it only at check out and not during check in as they asked us if we wanted to add the same. They also agreed that we had not had breakfast and they could pack for 2 people but still charged !! The waitress in the restaurant refused to allow us as she said that shut at 9.30 PM by saying that their cooks wouldnt serve even though closing time was much later and then had the audacity to bang the door shut. The bar tender banged the drinks on the counter with a frown when he saw that we were using our free drink voucher due to Platinum status. Wake up Novotel and remove this hotel from your list of hotels !!

Staff could be better

I stayed here for 3 nights in July. I was in town for the Harry Styles concert and this hotel was a short train ride to Reggio. My room was very dark like in the back of the hotel and smelled of sewer. When I notified the staff they said they were booked and could not do anything. Which was a lie because a friend of mine showed up an hour later without a reservation and got a room. They just didnt want to accommodate me. The room was also dusty. The hotel restaurant was very good. I had dinner there one night. Breakfast was good except that I when to get more coffee and they cleared my table when I was still eating. I wouldn't stay here again. I think staff were overwhelmed with the amount of people in the area. The bed was comfortable.
