1 for experience. We arrived earlier on the reservation and there were tons of guests waiting for 3 pm reservations opening. I understand if the hotel is fully booked but the reception treatment was terrible. No explanation and extremely rude conversation specially when we tried to anticipate the bureaucracy (passport copies, credit card registration etc.). We were in 25 for a business conference for Latin America and we wont go back there.

不錯 二樓一樓 都有能坐的地方等待 重點 一樓有乾淨的飲水機可裝 很環保 讚, 房務打掃確實乾淨 櫃檯和靄 唯一美中不足的是 早餐 可以再努力一下下 增加豐富性甚好

We used the Novotel as our base entering and exiting Chile and it was a great decision. The hotel's prices are quite reasonable compared to other budget options in the area and has everything you need. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well furnished. The hotel is in a nice area of town with plenty of services nearby. It is a little far from tourist attractions, but a cheap Uber can easily get you to the area of town that has the museum or attraction you would like to visit. The hotel has a very large breakfast and affordable room service (the pizza was good). The employees are friendly, helpful, and most speak English. After spending a long time in Patagonia at budget cabins and inns, this was such a comfortable and reliable hotel to return to. I highly recommend the Novotel as an excellent value that has everything you need to enjoy your stay.

Stayed in this hotel for one night. The location of the hotel was good. Walking distance to the Costanera Center mall, as well as the subway station. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Both the exterior and interior looked good. The room was OK - no red flag but also nothing impressive. Bed was comfortable and the water pressure of the rain shower was pleasant. However, the service was quite disappointing. Starting with the check-in, the lady staff in the reception was probably the coldest person I've met in my entire trip in Chile. No smile at all. Didn't introduce the facility of the hotel, didn't even tell us the location and opening hour of the breakfast until I asked specifically. We went to our room and found there's no drinking water, called the reception but no one answer the phone. Fine, they must be busy. Get down to the reception and was told that we should fill our own drinking bottle from the water purifying stall at the restaurant bar. I'm totally cool with reducing plastic bottle for environmental reason, but shouldn't it be told to the customer during the check-in, or have a clear sign/instruction in the room? Later the day, we also contacted the reception again requested for dental kit. We were told they will deliver to the room -- it never arrives. In short, it's an OK hotel but the service was a big letdown. I wouldn't stay in this hotel again.

Summary: An average yet comfortable stay, with what’s becoming the usual Novotel problems with service and staff quality issues. The good: Location: this was my first time in Santiago but I enjoyed the location. Everything I wanted to do was within walking distance. Hotel is located in a safe, affluent neighbourhood. There is a supermarket right next door to the hotel which came in handy. Bar Staff: Both male staff in the lobby bar were excellent. Not only did they service the bar but they were sometimes called over to help the front desk as they spoke the best English of anyone on the property. Welcome gift: My Accor Gold status was recognised with a welcome gift and note that was delivered some hours after I checked in. Usually these are placed in the room before you arrive, but I won’t complain about some tasty donuts. Fridge: I appreciated there being an empty fridge in the room. I personally hate mini bars, as they are simply traps to get more money out of hotel guests. With an empty fridge provided, I visited the supermarket next door and bought my own drinks/snacks for cheap. The bad: Housekeeping: I stayed for five nights and housekeeping did not attend my room once. This meant I ran out of toilet paper and had to purchase some from the supermarket next door. From what I observed housekeeping attend at 9am, but unlike most hotels they don’t do a secondary check in the afternoon. So in my case I left the room at 10/11am most mornings, not returning until late afternoon, but my room was never serviced. Check-in: unfortunately the female staff member who checked me in spoke very limited English and needed to call over one of the bar staff to help. This seems backwards to me, shouldn’t you have your best English speakers on the front desk? I booked this stay via the Accor app and the app stated my reservation was fully paid for, as did the confirmation email. However on arrival the Novotel staff said it wasn’t paid for as there is legislation in Chile where they can’t charge your card unless you’re physically there. I don’t know if this is true, but after I checked my bank statements, I confirmed I hadn’t been charged when I booked, despite the Accor app saying the opposite and I eventually paid on site and got to finalise my check in. Vibe: I wasn’t aware of this before arriving, but my visit happened to be the same time as the Pan American games. It appeared some athletes were also staying at the hotel so there was a high security presence. It was unsettling to be confronted by police carrying large guns in the lobby and hotel entrance. The front door was also placed in “night mode” meaning you had to scan your keycard if you wanted to get in. Drop off area: there is no drop off area at this hotel, so your taxi/uber will drop you on the street and block a lane of traffic. One of the policeman on guard for the Pan American games made a comment to my Uber driver in Spanish that didn’t appear too friendly. Elevators: there are only two elevators and they are painfully slow. Hotel is obviously aware of this as they have placed a chair on each floor next to the elevator door, so you have somewhere nice to sit while you wait for 2-5 mins each time. I waited so long my Magnum I bought from the supermarket next door started to melt before I got to my room. Conclusion: If I returned to Santiago, I wouldn’t stay here again, I would try somewhere else. This hotel is just OK and did nothing to wow me or make me want to come back to stay again.
