We were very impressed with the Novotel Cornella when travelling as a family of 4. The hotel was modern and clean and there is a small pool outside for the warmer months. The hotel offers a decent breakfast with plenty of options for all- and my favourite bit- freshly squeezed juice. It is a bit pricey- 18E per person- but kids eat free which worked well for us. There are also a few cafes on the walk to the train station which we visited and would recommend for a traditional start to the day! The hotel room was clean- the shower was a little leaky- and the pillows weren't the best- but all in all no complaints! The hotel is situated within easy reach of the airport- quick 10 minute taxi journey. However, it does take some navigating to get into the city. We used the train to get in (a 5 minute walk to the station) and then used the 'sightseeing bus' to navigate the city. We also used the metro and taxis infrequently.

Well placed, well equipped, value for money, family friendly base.

Only a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport this well appointed hotel has all the amenities for a city break. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the Almeda Metro station from which you can readily access the majority of the city. We used a 10 journey Metro pass at around €12.50 each - it was valid for both days we were exploring. The reception staff were welcoming and efficient which was refreshing as we did have a late evening arrival. The room was modern and spotless. We had asked for two double beds and although not guaranteed we were provided with them. Both the main bed and sofa bed were very comfortable. Housekeeping was daily. The room was well equipped with plenty of power points, hot drink making facilities, a hairdryer and bathroom charge point, a safe, a fridge, a full length mirror and a large TV. There was only one English speaking channel though and that was the news. There have been comments about access to the shower but rest assured the door opens outwards as well as in so entry is easy and it is an easily controlled powerful shower. There is a large desk area but not too much in the way of storage. As a family of four on a three night stay we had packed light though and the storage was just sufficient. The black out curtains ensured total darkness which ensured a good night’s sleep. I’ll review the restaurant separately. The outside area has a small pool with a few loungers, a table tennis table and further patio style seating including some sofas. The reception area had a large TV generally showing football. There was a huge table football game around which you could get 2 five-a-side teams and probably more. Nevertheless we had a game with just the four of us which proved a laugh. Overall a well placed, family friendly, value for money base.

This. Isn’t Novotel quality, this is an Ibis hotel at best! I didn’t mind being further out from the city to save some money, but despite that, the hotel lacks quality despite the price paid. The aircon hardly worked, two paper cups with no spoons and instant coffee only. The shower leaked on the floor soaking the bathroom, you can hear everyone in the other rooms, the internet is slow, and the breakfast is impossible - I gave up as the staff couldn’t speak English and couldn’t find a free table to sit at. Avoid and just pay to stay at an Ibis as it’s the same.

Stayed for 1 night before our cruise. Really conveniently located, close to both the airport and the cruise terminal. Beds were comfy and room very clean. Breakfast was good, although busy. Nice touch with the games facilities and pool to keep the kids entertained.

Shower is badly designed. Needs fixing immediately.

Nicely renovated lobby and restaurant, with efficient check-in service. Close to the airport and intercity train (not Metro) direct to Barcelona city center. Still, it takes about 45mins from hotel to city center (walk + train change etc). The only reason why I am providing a review is that the shower is very badly designed. The glass door only opens inwards into the shower bed, and one must be a child to be able to squeeze into a 10 cm corner, close the door and shower. My husband gave up and decided to shower with the door open - inevitably resulting in a wet bathroom (and the need to wipe up after each shower). The hotel should expeditiously fix this problem. It feels like the bathrooms are in a state of work-in-progress: sink is old and scratched, toilet doesn't flush well... I am an accor member and loyally stayed in accor hotels around the world. This is by far the worst bathroom I have encountered, and falls far short of accor standards (more so, since this is a 4 star chain).
