We've visited this hotel in January. The location is great, next to the aquarium and with a view on the harbour and the famous towers. Checkin went smooth and our room was oke. The room was just delivered by the painter, we missed some chairs and a desk in the room. The bathroom was clean, with shower and no bathtub. The dinner was average, the Wellington slightly overcooked. The waiters were busy with themselves and forgot their guests sometimes. The receptionist who spoke some Dutch was very friendly and even delivered some chairs in our room. Compliments for her !Room rate about 190 prpn. Excl. breakfast. Highly recommended !

Lovely modern Hotel located beside the Aquarium and close to all attractions. Room was very comfortable overlooking the Harbour with a great Bathroom. Breakfast was gorgeous with a great choice served in a very comfortable and spacious room. Staff there were so helpful and pleasant. I would recommend this Hotel.

We love the Mercure hotels always quality. Safe parking good location near town. Ideal for our dog near a park. The staff were friendly and professional. The bar very nice. Nice cafe and restaurant. Our room was beautiful, clean and spacious. We had coffee making facilities but very mean and no milk.

The hotel is easy to find and parking is on site or across underground but you will have to pay for it either way. The property was completely renovated and looks good inside and out. The ceiling in the corridors is low like in a cruise ship with dark blue carpeting. The bank of elevators is behind the reception desk which is more like a table on the side of the entrance. The breakfast lounge takes place on the same floor as the reception. There is a swimming pool down a few steps. The room was nice and clean but we unfortunately did not qualify for a fridge at our room rate although there was space for it. Abandon the car to the parking garage - safe and well-lit but not cheap - and walk across the narrow pedestrian bridge to the other side but watch out for bikes which have taken over this part of town. There are plenty of restaurants by the water open late and serving fresh seafood. I would book there again if I was to return to La Rochelle but please! I want a small refrigerator in my room. At this price point, it should be a must.

This choice is part of a set of measures taken to reduce our carbon footprint and therefore our impact on the climate. As you know, hotels are among the first 'polluters' and these measures are crucial so that we can be actors of the change that falls to us. In the same way, this is why we now put microfiltered water at your disposal in the corridors of our rooms. We spent a long weekend here and we really enjoyed it. The staff were excellent and were happy to speak to us in English after not laughing at our poor attempts at French. Our room was well equipped and quiet, but it was quite small. It lacked a wardrobe or anywhere to hang our clothes, so I wouldn't want to stay here for much more than 2 or 3 days. Breakfast was excellent with lots of cooked and cold options.
