Very very good experience, thoroughly comfortable room and I felt the restaurant was terrific both in terms of food and service. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the town centre and I could see the top of the Basilica (which IS Albert) from my room. I hired a bike for two days from the excellent Office De Tourisme and made my way around the usual spots. This hotel is quite close to Lochnagar and there is a WW1 cemetery (Bapaume Post) two minutes' walk along the road to La Boiselle. One of the 'stones has a direct reference to Lord Kitchener which you do not see often. I was delighted with the stay. Only tiny query = the lack of a kettle in the rooms, given the evident UK contingent staying I found this surprising. Fantastic overall, many thanks.

Decent sized room and good shower. I was surprised just how quiet the building was at night which allowed a decent nights sleep. Breakfast was reasonable - although the egg boiling system too some getting used to. Don't believe it when it says 3 mins for a soft boiled egg - it needs 5

Clean hotel, friendly staff, good dinner/breakfast menu and good beer. Ideally situated for our needs. We stayed three nights whilst on a bit of a pilgrimage to trace the footsteps of some relatives (and a final resting place of one) from the Battle of the Somme.

OK for 4 nights but no longer.

Stayed for 4 nights on a Leger battlefield tour in room 7. Rooms are budget level with limited storage space just about ok for 4 nights but definitely no longer. Limited storage space, no tea/coffee facilities, no safe or fridge. Bedroom area was of an adequate size but the "Pod" style bathroom was quite cramped and the step at the entrance is dangerous. Also the toilet on our arrival stank of urine and remained that way for the duration of our stay even though we had room cleaning every day but it could really have done with a good deep clean. Breakfast was continental style which suited us as we're not part of the "Full English" crowd. Dinner was tasty but with limited choice. Bar area was a bit small with hardly enough seats or tables to go round. There is an outdoor seating area but that wouldn't be much use in the winter. Also drinks were quite expensive. However the hotel staff were friendly and efficient especially the bar and restaurant staff.

Not suitable for coach parties

Lovely hotel, but as travelling with a coach party they are unable to cope with meals for 40 people. Bedrooms have little storage for a 4 night stay, more suited to overnight stays en route elsewhere. Pleasant staff.
