Room had a great shower and all the vital items for a decent stay. The gym was not a gym. It’s way too small and has barely any equipment. Would suggest investing in more space and items! The restaurant had a very limited menu so I ordered Uber eats both nights I was there.

Well located central yet quiet hotel

We came to the hotel as part of our wedding anniversary trip and the staff went the extra mile to make us feel special! Great location, a quiet hotel just a short walk from the city centre. I really liked the big spa in the vaults - huge sauna, nice little plunge pool, steam room.. and I had it all to myself! What a bliss. The staff was very friendly and nice, especially the girls at the reception. I read some reviews where people did not appreciate the not so fresh decor in the rooms - well, the room was clean, served its purpose :) We did not come to the hotel to admire the furnishings but the city :) We did not try the restaurant as we loved taking walks through the city centre in the evenins. We also like authentic local cuisine (Eisgrub-Brau was a great find). We always have a good stay at Novotel hotels and I am looking forward to our next visit.

I came with my football team on a pre-season tour, and we really enjoyed our stay at Novotel Mainz. The staff made our stay so enjoyable and the team felt really welcomed. Of particular enjoyment were the facilities; the sauna and the plunge pool were popular among the players, especially after the games and helped soothe sore muscles! Special thanks go to Frank, Abdel, Helene and Aida, who did a wonderful job looking after our needs and who were especially patient with our younger team members in the small hours...! And also Emily at breakfast who made sure we had everything we wanted. If we ever do return to Mainz, I'm sure we'll be staying here again!

disgusting.... Very aged, smelly (pii and mold), with carpet like in the 80's. I choosed novotel because I thought I would find standards like those in i've been in France and we arrived in a whole. When I complained about our room and said it did not respect the standards of novotel, they girl was upset and asked myself to justifiy ( she denied my opinion and was dismissiv even If I did critize in a very polite and calm way)... not ok....
