Terrible stay

I had the worst experience in this hotel. In the middle of the night, the fire alarm started to ring, a false alarm, there was no fire. It rang for about 15 minutes, at 2AM. The next day, the staff didn’t even bother to apologize! When staying in a hotel, pretty much the first thing you are looking for is to get a good night of sleep, well that didn’t happen….

Avoid this hotel if you want a good nights sleep.

Keep away from this hotel, we had an awful night, they turned off the airconditiong at 23h00 when the temperatures were at 30°c with a relative humidity of 80%, I went to reception to ask them to switch it back on but the receptionist was of no help, so we had to sleep with the window open and there was so much noise coming from the pub just under our hotel room that we didn't sleep. The bedrooms are so small the space between the tv and the bed much on be about 30cms so everytime you catch your arm on the tv. For 80 euros a night its expensive for the quality

The room are cheap but AC does not run at night.

We were traveling across France this summer during a 3 day heat wave. We decided to stop at Auxerre to get out of the heat. During the day the AC runs fine, indicated by the two green lights on the the thermostat, one for the compressor and one for the fan. In the middle of the first night I woke up sweating. I got up to discover the system was off. So I turned it back on. Only the fan came on. This happened in all 3 rooms of the people we were traveling with. On the 2nd night, the compressor light was off so only the fan was running. Room was never cold st night, only during the day. I guess that’s how they decided to cut costs. So be careful. When they say it’s a budget hotel they mean it. You get what you pay for. This was the first time staying at this hotel chain and based on this experience it will be the last.

Veuillez nous excuser pour la climatisation, il ne s'agit pas d'un problème d'économies mais d'un dysfonctionnement dû aux fortes chaleurs, ce qui nous a obligé à couper la climatisation afin d'éviter d'autres désagréments. A l'heure actuelle le problème est résolu. Nous vous prions d’agréer Madame, Monsieur nos sincères salutations. Cindy LUTSEN Adjointe de direction.

This hotel is new. Because its a budget hotel, the rooms are small, no safe or bar fridge. Great choice for a short stay. It does offer standard French breakfast fare for 6 euros each. Very reasonable compared to other hotels offering the same. Staff, friendly and helpful. The location could not be better. You walk across the street, through the park and you are in old Auxerre. Walk to the clock tower. Lovely restaurants on the river front offering good food at reasonable prices. Parking is limited with room for about 8 vehicles which could be a problem in the busy season, but parking is at a premium everywhere.

Great location. Short walking distance to centre. Clean hotel. Very helpful, friendly staff. Overall fantastic experience. If visiting Auxerre, do not hesitate in choosing this place to stay. We will definitely be staying here again if we need a. Place to stay during our long drive south from Paris. Thank you!
