We traveled with a large group of kids for a soccer trip, and the staff at the bar/restaurant was very patient despite the large number of kids asking for ice cream! Kate, Meg and Sophie were all very helpful and polite, and we appreciated their kindness!

Hi the staff at this hotel are amazing. Emily and Michelle on reception made us feel so special when checking in. James the waiter was so amazing looking after my gluten free guest and a special thanks to the chef Martin who catered for our every needs

I had the best service with James and Martin. They went out of their way to accommodate me with a gluten allergy. I have never been treated so well before and cannot say enough about the care and compassion I received from them. Thank you both for your kindness, Gloria Aguglia

First time i came to this hotel a couple of months ago, my first experience was very bad. Man at reception was rude. I waiting in the queue and I could hear him talk to the gentleman in front of me. He was very polite. Sir this and sir that. As I approached desk his whole demeanour changed, put me in a room where the heating don’t not work. I was there for business and I was in work clothes. I did not feel welcomed. 2nd time visiting today (17/04/24) and what a change from first time. Emily on reception was a breath of fresh air and went above and beyond to address my problems from before and rectify which she did. Bar staff were lovely, they were very busy but could tell they cared and just all round nice. It was busy but i think I saw their name tags, pretty sure it was clair and abi. I may be wrong. Apart from that stuck up bloke from before mercure have got good choice in staff.

Room was great, beds very comfortable . Food was very good! Bar staff were great fantastic, especially Abi, just a shame she supports Wigan! Up the Leigh!
