We stayed at Mercure due to our flight getting canceled. The night prior we stayed at Kaya due to our flight being late so we missed connecting flight. I have to admit that in comparison Kaya was a much better all around experience than Mercure. We were told we were getting a 2 bed room and they simply brought us a cot after the fact and it was less than ideal. It left very little room to move around the room. My children could not sleep at all there. It was very hot. Though they claim they have air conditioning, they do not. The technician told me they do not have a cooling box therefore no a/c. There was no fan in bathroom… and unfortunately the staff at reception were not the friendliest and do not speak a lick of english.

I could not have booked a better hotel. Walking distance to main attractions. Sirkeci metro station and tram station just few minutes walking. Plenty of restaurants and turkish bakery next to the hotel. Staff are great and hotel position super. Room spotless. I will return on my next trip to the wonderful Istanbul.

Okay, probably better options out there.

Would avoid. Strange limitations on toilets in lobby and cafe/restaurant. Actually really annoying. There is only one toilet (strangely shared for both sexes) that is accessible. This means either long queues for the toilet or having to trek up to your room. Toilets aside, Nice, clean hotel otherwise, great location for bazar. But for price would expect a more luxury experience. Staff aren’t that hospitable.

Excellent part of town. All major attractions walkable. Room comfortable and the staff friendly. We loved the nearby restaurants, fakes shopping and waterfront. Gym is 24/7 Bathroom water is hot and strong and even our small room had ample space for two.

Wonderful stay!

The location is perfect! You have everything nearby, the bazar, all restaurant and near the metro station. Sirkeci metro station is the main one, the its best to be near the main ones. The staff speak fluent English and they are very polite and accommodating. Keep it up!
