10/10 Stay. Comfy Bed, Bed arranged before sleeping, fragrant soap and body wash. I think they should improve the Fairmont Gold Benefits. Club Millesime in Sofitel is Better. There is no afternoon tea unlike in Sofitel Club. Staffs are on par with sofitel. They are very accommodating.

The main thing I enjoy about staying here and it’s been over several years are the staff , super attentive and I’ve come to know alot of them better been the past few years , front door staff especially Chrystene are great she always remembers me when I return and goes over and about be to ensure I’m happy with my stay. 2 days there staff I’ve known for quite some time are Paul a manager in lounge and November in the Soectrum. They always treat me like family and go out of their way to make sure I have everything I need. All the staff here are great and welcoming people and it’s always a pleasure to see them. As soon as they hear I’m in building the seek me out to welcome me back and ensure all I need is taken care of.

9.6 “A very luxurious hotel” The moment you enter the lobby you get engulfed by the luxurious atmosphere and a nice scent in the air. The staff was always friendly and helpful and very professional. I had 3 massages at the spa and I enjoyed the rituals woth foot wash, massage and tea afterwards. The therapists were very skilled and professional. I liked the room even though I missed some more decor on the white walls. It felt a bit empfty. Unfortunately, there was a more or less co stant bad smell in the air in the room. I complained but no source could be found. In the hallway on the same floor the smell was also a bit unpleasant but in the room even more. I could never get it out if my nose or accustom to it.

Was ok/good. Could have been great!

I like to start off this review by complimenting all the hard-working ground staff (Precious from Spectrum restaurant, front-desk staff, Lilian manning the entrance etc etc) that I had either directly encounter (because of a direct service rendered) or indirectly, has been great in terms of their courtesy, friendliness and help. They are not perfect but I would be nit-picking if I were to share anything else here. However, two particular experiences unfortunately made me reflect on my stay. On saturday, I was in the hotel walking at least 5 or more strides behind a Caucasian man dressed in short-sleeved hawaiian shirt and pants. I was in T-shirt and bermudas but nothing shabby. We walked past a hotel staff in smart jacket, shirt and pants. Based on his dressing and the way he greeted the Caucasian 'good morning', I am guessing he maybe a senior manager in the hotel? Only thing is when he next saw me, he said nothing. I was slightly surprised then. I didn't lose anything by him not greeting me for sure but it had me asking a few questions in my head? And guess what, the Caucasian didn't even bother returning his greeting and just continued walking! I brushed the above off until two days later when again, something similar happened but the reverse this time! This time I was walking in front and saw a hotel staff who didn't seem like he was going to say anything and I greeted him 'good morning' first which seemed to have caught him by surprise. After I came to a stop in front of the lift, I turned and saw a Caucasian behind me this time and the staff greeted him. Almost deja vu of sorts, the man walked past him without breaking stride and of course ignoring him. Two experiences in 4 days. I agreed nothing "bad" happened to me but these are not good experiences for a hotel guest. Not in a 5-star hotel and definitely not at Fairmont.

Fabulous! We’ll be back!

Everything about this hotel is absolutely fabulous. The service from everyone was impeccable; the room beautiful and comfortable. In fact we decided to stay here instead of an airport hotel when we pass through on the way home. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve seen with Western, Asian, Indian, Healthy, and Filipino dishes. I went for the noodle bar 4 days in a row. We ate at the dinner buffet in Spectrum one night and everything was really tasty. We particularly liked the theme: American -Route 66! Of course we had to try the Happy Hour in the Raffles Long Bar- all the Singapore Slings you can drink in 2 hours for a very reasonable price. One night I had the chicken satay (not traditional but quite good) and the other the vegan cobb salad which I loved. We also enjoyed the pool-loungers with shade, a lap lane, and the very efficient pool bar. The hotel location looked great but we didn’t really do anything in the local area. Stay here! You’ll be glad you did.
