Decent hotel with great location. Shopping malls and Hardrock cafe is walking distance from this hotel. Some of the staff speaks English as well while most it’s Portuguese only. Breakfast is limited and repeated everyday, it could use some upgrade. Free drinking water is not provided like most of the hotels in Curitiba and translator app is a must for non native visitors

Decent amenities, great location

The place is nice, located in center of the city. Some of the staff speaks English while mostly it’s Portuguese only. Breakfast is decent with limited repeated options everyday. Free Water is not provided in rooms across most hotels in Curitiba Gym could use an upgrade it’s pretty small with few machines only. Overall decent place..

Good hotel, amazing staff

I had to travel to Curitiba for a work assignment for two weeks. I stayed in Novotel Curitiba Batel the whole time. The staff was very professional and always ready to help, I don't speak Portuguese and they were even more than willing to accommodate my needs in terms of language, it was really helpful and it shows that the staff is very customer service oriented. The room I stayed in was on the 13th floor. It had all the necessary things that it has to have for business travel, a very comfortable bed, nice hot shower with amazing water pressure (after a long day of work this is much appreciated) and overall it was really clean with fresh bedsheets every day, A Nespresso machine ready to be used ( they didn't offered any kind of snacks nor complementary water, I thought they would considering the amount payed). The stay was really enjoyable and I would definitely come back. I would like to point out one specific staff member, Ayrton, that was more than helpful in all of my concerns regarding billings ( the hotel went through a management IT system change so things were pretty complicated) he helped me through everything and his professionalism should be used as an example. Also I would like to thank the restaurant that runs in the hotel premises, they were very helpful and I enjoyed their service.

reasonable comfort, despite some issues

This is a mid-range brand of the Accor hotel chain and theoretically offers a good level of comfort, albeit at European-level prices. I stayed five nights to experience Curitiba and its surroundings in detail, though five days of continuous rain and low temperatures were obviously not ideal for such a visit. The hotel did not provide or even rent umbrellas for guests, though advised me where I could by one if prepared to walk a couple of hundred meters under the deluge. I found the accommodation satisfactory in most respects, but there were a number of very minor things that were not quite as they might have been. My reasonably sized room was on the cold side, and the fan heater seemed to do little but blow cold air around the room until I managed to reset it by random pressing of buttons (no instructions were provided), which I did on several occasions and still don’t know how I succeeded. The shampoo/gel dispenser in the shower was empty, though I always bring my own soap anyway. The breakfast buffet was extensive, though nothing exceptional by Brazilian standards. On my first evening I dined in the hotel restaurant, finding that my free drink voucher was valid only for either of the two cheapest beers on the menu. Why even bother? At the hotel’s Peruvian themed restaurant I ordered a vegetarian ceviche as a starter, and a veggie chaufa as a main, but the waiter brought me a totally wrong (meat) dish, then seemed a bit put out that I rejected it – she was visibly reprimanded by the maitre d’. I ate elsewhere on the other nights of my stay but noticed on my return to the hotel one evening that diners were being loudly serenaded by a ?Peruvian style band that didn’t seem very conducive to a quiet working dinner, nor to a romantic occasion. My room had thick curtains drawn across the window, which hid the view of a dim and dreary inner courtyard. On the plus side, the wifi was fast and consistent, the bed very comfortable, the safe for valuables reassuring and the working desk functional. The central location was very convenient for seeing the main sights, and getting around the rather large city by uber was correspondingly inexpensive, making up for the steep room rate.

Very nice hotel in the center of Curitiba with everything you need for a (business) trip. Staff was very friendly, especially Ailton at the front desk! He was very happy to give us some recommendations, but unfortunately we didn't have time to visit anything other than our office.
