Unexpected find

Last minute booking, very helpful staff member answered the phone, advised us the last ferry time to get to Portsea, gave great help in booking us in, and we booked just a basic king bed room with no view, but for an overnight sleep it was great. Had everything we needed and we were totally happy. Could have stayed longer. Not a golfer but lovely spot to stay relax and explore the local area.

Was looking forward to a nice one night stay, but unfortunately that was not my experience. Reception staff were unwelcoming and rather surley. Perhaps we didn't fit into the 'golf set'. Got switched from a standard room to a disabled room (we are not disabled) and then told they didn't have a small table to give us to store things in the bare bathroom. They suggested we store our toiletries on the fixed shower chair under the shower - great idea unless you want stuff to stay dry..... All in all an unimpressive experience and we will not be coming back.

We did discuss on check-in the unexpected issue with the air-conditioning unit in the room that was allocated for your stay. As we were unable to get a technician to come to the site prior to your check-in we moved you to another room which had air conditioning, the only other available room. Please note, our front of house staff generally receive great reviews from our guests, I am sorry that you were dissatisfied with your experience. The front of house staff are fabulous. They had the heater on in the room prior to my arrival so it was nice and warm. The hotel is ok - a bit tired and the corridors smell a bit musty. Overall it was a comfortable stay, the view from the room is lovely and the water pressure is good. Nothing special.

A very modern hotel located right inside the golf club at Portsea. Great facilities and personalised service during our stay . Ideal for golfers looking for something different. Course was in excellent condition and they were happy to assist with tee times.

We hadn’t played here for over 10 years & it has changed a lot. The course is still good (slightly altered) and there’s a nice looking hotel. We didn’t stay at the hotel but enjoyed a nice lunch after our round. The clubhouse/ hotel has moved & now sits atop a hill giving excellent views of the Course & surrounding area.
