Feels more like a three star, but the staff try hard

Firstly, location is pretty good. It's quiet, easy enough to find, and convenient for the tram. There are lots of places for breakfast in the immediate vicinity, which were good, and several restaurants, which were less impressive. Beds were comfortable, water pressure good in the showers, but the place had a careworn feel, with stained carpets, plenty of scuffs and scratches, on the whole, a hotel that's seen better days. Seemed to be plenty of tour groups. I don't feel it was expensive, all things considered, but that depends on what sort of deal you get. OK value for money. I think the staff tried hard, so credit where credit's due. I had a few things I needed their help with, during my stay, and they always delivered.

Great location near restaurants which helps because the food isn’t very good. Steaks were dry and tough. Rooms are nice. There is a refrigerator, safe, and coffee maker. Our street side room was quiet. Good lighting for a change. Be careful of the stairs, there is no handrail. This hotel is popular with tour groups.

Interesting design but outdated and not very clean our room was good. on inner courtyard quiet. covers on bed stained. carpets dont look the cleanest. bathroom dated but ok in our group. rooms on street side very loud and some with strong moldy smell dining room. chicken was like shoe leather, steak was good breakfast. meh overall an ok stay. hotel is interesting design. carpets need to be cleaned. moldy rooms need to be remediated. upholstery with stains need to be cleaned or replaced. food quality patchy.

Enjoyed the spa.

Hotel had all of the amenities I required. The room was clean and tidy and the staff was extremely helpful. I particularly enjoyed the treatment I received at the Spa… a two combination hammam and massage treatment that left me feeling wonderful.

The carpets in the halls were filthy. Our room was ok but not the 4.5 star shown on TripAdvisor, a 3 star at the very most. This hotel is in need of a cleaning and updating. Just happy our stay was for one night only although service in the DR for both our dinner and breakfast was quite good.
