The location of the hotel and the 1st floor bar are great. The hallways are very loud. From inside your room you can hear all the noises in the hallway, voices and feet. There should be carpeting and soft surfaces is the hall for acoustic absorption. The doors to the hallway have to bid an undercut. You need either a taller door or a drop seal. This would aid both with the noise and the light coming in from the hall. There are not enough plugs in the room for a 21st Century hotel. The doors to the bathrooms also have to much of an undercut. There is little acoustic privacy in the bathrooms. Terrazzo is not a good material for a hotel room. It looks dirty. It was poorly patched which only made it look dirtier and the carpet around the beds did not provide enough floor coverage considering what the base flooring was.

I was surprised at the quality of the finishings inside the rooms. From a large gap at the floor of the door that let in plenty of noise to the non-functioning (and far to few) outlets to a leaky shower head that sprayed water all over the place, there were just details that could be easily fixed that would have made the stay better. The lobby/check-in area could be better marked, too. Several of us that arrived at the same time were wandering the gallery trying to find how to check-in, which isn't the best welcome you'd expect. The location couldn't be better, though, and the beds were comfortable.

The fan in bathroom did not work and the toilet seat was broken. I would like to have had an in room safe to keep laptops and jewelry and at least two movable luggage racks. Location was great and the staff, especially the valets, were superb.

The staff was kind and helpful. The room was run down. The bathroom had broken tiles and dirty grout. None of the sockets in the room would hold a plug. None of the USB chargers worked and the room was very dark. The hotel needs an upgrade regardless of the price per night but even more so given the luxury hotel expectation.

Loved staying at the 21C Museum Hotel. Had some issues with the AC in our room and the security/valuables box was broken or it needed a new battery. The AC was fixed but not the security/valuables box. Also, we did not know we needed to inform the front desk that we wanted clean sheets and towels for our 2nd night. Towels were delivered but the sheets on the beds were not changed. The dinner in the restaurant was fantastic—really delicious! The breakfast was marginal as our scrambled eggs were ice cold but we received warmer ones eventually. The waitress was outstanding—excellent service. Will stay at the hotel again.
