My friends and I stopped in this hotel bar on 3/31 bar for a few drinks. It’s a very nice bar. I would love to go again. However, the bartender, seemingly charming in the beginning, became aggressive and snotty at the end of our stay. When we paid for the check, he wrote a tip line in and called our attention to it to make sure that we left him one. I thought it was pretty rude. I’m have no issue with leaving a tip (I am a former server), but from what I’ve been told restaurants in most of Europe are not expecting a tip because they make living wages. I tip people when I’ve gotten great service, but I don’t like a bartender hovering over me with an expectation that I’m gonna leave him something. Rude.

Nice boutique hotels with fantastic view to the Aare river and excellent service (only restaurant which do not allowed/provide a microwave to us).
