We are currently at the Sofitel Krabi and overall have had a great stay. Two things that I want to call out as exceptional: the activities team and kids club team are very dedicated. They should all be given a raise. From the activities that they organize (glow party, foam party) they work tirelessly to deliver kids a great experience. Moodang, Zandy and all the Activities Team seem very dedicated. Well done. Second, we did the Signature boat tour (private). From the boat to the itinerary - it was flawless. Thank you to AL at the concierge and to the boat team (April 18). The pool is large and clean and the Wibit is a star attraction. Now the cons: The hotel grounds are expansive but they need to be better maintained and the gardens are very dry and not as beautiful as they could be. The hotel is also understaffed it seems with many staff working different restaurants. Management is also strange. The two Western (?) looking managers who walk around the hotel in suits all day seem to be more focused on greeting Western tourists than Asian (Thai, Indian, or expats like us who live in Thailand). This seems a real shame as Asians are big spenders too and pleasing the local or domestic market should also be top of the agenda. The pool staff - while well meaning - also don’t seem very motivated or proactive about bringing water or towels. Something management needs to improve. F&B - good choice of restaurants and good quality but expensive for what is offered. In room dining options are very limited. My favorite hotel in Southeast Asia for business is the Sofitel in Hanoi. I have to say that in comparison to the Sofitel Hanoi the Sofitel Krabi lacks that attention to detail and personalized service that I receive every time I’m in Hanoi. Overall, between the rooms, the boat tour and the F&B for our family (we dined mostly at the hotel) we probably will end up spending more than 100,000 baht (or $3,000 dollars) for a 5 day stay. Considering this I would certainly expect more attentive service. Thank goodness for the local staff who try hard and make this hotel a 4/5 but management needs to focus on delivering more of the legendary Sofitel experience. We’ve been living in Asia 14 years and would still say that this ranks among the top 5 family friendly hotels in Thailand but some extra attention all around could make it perfect.

This hotel is fantastic. The setting and services are great but what really makes it is the exceptional hospitality by the staff. Thanks particularly to Peemai, Na, Sam, Golf Sky, Kris and Plamy for wonderful service at the pool bar and restaurant and the superb lounge team!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The whole hotel is clean and very well looked after. I can imagine when it was first built it was amazing although it probably is nearing a refurb of sorts just to keep it upto date and nice. The activities are great and my little boy loved the kids club, the staff were very friendly there. I enjoyed the facilities in the gym and my parter played golf twice which he said was reasonably priced for 9 holes. You can tell the staff really care about their job and are so helpful. I think they need a gate to access the outside closer to the other end of the pool, we climbed over the fence which was low and your not supposed to but it saved a long walk to the main gate. Our room was clean, tidy and spacious with good air con. Unfortunately, the sea had jellyfish, so we didnt venture to the beach during the day only to eat at the restaurants in the evening. My little one lived the pool and all the things to do in it. They even had a little foam patty for the children which was lovely. Thanks Sofitel for a great stay, we will be back!

A genuinely delightful hotel and a lovely stay in general. The property is well maintained, tidy and a pleasure to walk around, with the sea visible from every part of the pool and the swim up bar. Rooms are equally fresh feeling, the spa is excellent, and the buffet breakfast is in line with other 5* Asian hotels, i.e. wonderful, with special mention going to their pastries and patisserie which was incredible. The best thing about it though, was the staff, who were friendly, good humoured and attentive. We loved our time at the Koh Poda pool bar - Golf, Na, Sky, Kris and Sem - and the hugely talented barman whose cocktails made early evening especially great all deserve a mention, as do the incredibly warm and professional front desk staff. We travelled with two teenage children, which as other parents know can be a bit of fun destroyer, but even they had a brilliant time, even if they felt far too lofty for the children's assault course in the swimming pool. Highly recommended, although when we visited in April it was debilitatingly hot, which made it hard to muster much motivation beyond shuffling down to the beach occasionally.
