4 nights at the Novotel Barossa to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We were playing golf so chose this location for that reason. Excellent friendly reception staff. Great bathroom-well stocked with towels, toiletries etc. Really really sparse bed room. No drawers so our socks, undies etc were ‘unpacked’ onto the office desk. Only 5 coat hangers. Housekeeping gave us a bread knife and cheeseboard on request but otherwise the kitchen was adequate but only just. Would have liked a jug to be able to put water in the fridge.

Best place to stay in the Barossa but little things let it down. Breakfast is good not great with pancakes and waffles on offer but stone cold sitting next to the bread. Needs a heat lamp on them as no one eats them cold. Very odd. It is annoying to have to carry luggage up stairs as there is no lift anywhere in the building that also seems odd. Staff good and beds comfy.

Checked in early but fortunately our room was ready. Good check in experience. We were grateful for a ground floor room as there are no lifts in the motel style rooms and this can be an issue for UK visitors with heavy luggage for a long stay in Australia! Only took breakfast here which was good with excellent views across the valley. Very helpful and pleasant ladies on the breakfast team. Well done!k
