I’ve stayed at the st regis and conrad in bora bora and this is the first hotel after a series of “five star resorts” that have matched up-to that level. The attention to detail is impressive and truly what transforms the entire experience. When a hotel offers you a choice of 7 pillows and 7 scents to spray on the pillows along with proper turn down service and a butler <- THAT is five star… not the “enhanced wifi service” that any claims as a five star amenity… if you want a relaxing retreat from your overworked stressed out insane life in then this is the place to soothe your senses and recenter your soul as you forgive yourself for your life choices. Im currently staying at another Marriott “five star resort” in koh samui and while it is in the top ten percent of hotels I've stayed at, it is no sanctuary retreat. Banyan Tree wins this one hands down. I’ve also heard great things about the W and Four Seasons. My understanding of koh samui is that every resort is playing to its strengths. Banyan Tree has amazing villas and a world class hospitality team and staff. The food could be a little better considering the prices. I can tell that the chefs have the ability to crank the flavor and spice but have had to tone it down because of the series of western Karen's that have asked for “no spice please”. If u want ur food spicy and flavorful speak up. Finally, two last nit-picks. 1) wear swimming shoes to the beach unless you want ur feet cut up from the rocks 2) lots of really tiny ants at almost every outdoor table or relaxing area (but inside the villa is fine)

Banyan Tree Samui is a fantastic hotel nestled in an authentic jungle setting on Koh Samui. This hotel exceeds all expectations. The spacious villas are beautifully and modernly furnished, with excellent air conditioning. The private pool offers a tranquil and relaxing escape. The service at Banyan Tree is exceptional; every request is fulfilled promptly. The beach, situated between two rocks, is enchantingly beautiful. The large pool surrounded by blooming frangipani trees and their fragrance is my personal oasis of comfort. The dining experience is simply outstanding—authentic, diverse, and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

The most amazing staff and service my husband and I have had anywhere! The most beautifully stunning location you almost don’t want to venture away from the resort! I done alot of research and read alot of reviews trying to decide where to stay while over on our honeymoon and decided on banyan tree and it did not disappoint in the slightest! From the staff, the extra wee touches, the food, the location i can absolutely not fault one thing, we were sad to leave! Looking forward to some day going back with the whole family. Also a massive shout out to our host nan, an absolute beauty of a person always checking in with us , going above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed or if we wanted her to book us anything. This place made our trip so special

Our experience at Banyan Tree Samui was perfection from start to finish! The service, location, and food were all top notch! I would like to thank, Chan, our villa host and Golf, at the beach for making our memories here that much better! I would recommend this resort to anyone visiting Koh Samui!!

Wedding anniversary trip. 3 stop in the trip. Pros: Excellent and friendly staff. The beach is beautiful, though we were unlucky with the windy weather. The view from the villa and the restaurants (both breakfast and Saffron) was out of this world. Layout of the villa is impressive. The resort was kind enough to upgrade 2 levels up. The breakfast is very good, not excellent. Though the resort is busy and has 80+ villa in total, the buggy drivers did their best to be at your requested location within responsible time. Thanks to them. Last but not least. I believe the team that handles the communication at Banyan Tree, through the WhatsApp, is outstanding. They made our stay experience smooth and convenient. Cons: The property needs to be renovated/maintained well, as it is getting old. Throughout our stay, the team constantly pushed to promote different products and services by the Banyan Tree; this definitely diminished , the supposedly, luxury atmosphere. They need to tone it down. Last but not least the privacy in the villa (E01) could be enhanced, as people who pass by the drive way behind us can see us in the pool. In terms of the service in the Saffron restaurant was excellent but the King shrimp that was included in 2 dishes were way over cooked.
