Great location and very approachable and helpful staff. The place looks good and is clean. Thin walls and a lot of noise during weekends as a lot of people stay there due to its ideal location. Expensive bar and restaurant with questionable quality

Grand is the wrong name, there is nothing grand. The hotel has an air of shabbiness, our room was small and had the same air, the extractor fan in the bathroom did not work nor did the TV. One wall looked as if some liquid had run down it in rivulets, no wardrobe just a hanging space below which was the kettle and cups etc, no plug though, you had to move it to the bedside table to plug it in. Bar prices were astronomical. We had a tight schedule or would have demanded a different room, as it was we made do but will not go back there again. Only consolation was that the bed was comfortable.

Travelling for business snd on my own , didn’t fancy eating on my own so decided to go for room service… well firstly used room phone to call room service 3 times no answer , so thought ok may be a problem so called the reception still no answer, resorted to phone from my personal phone and ring the hotel to place an order. Placed order for a pizza , came quite quickly but for £14.00 didn’t except a shop bought base with added topping , shocking . The ham was just generic what I call plastic hame with a sprinkle of cheese. And other topping looked great but the pizza was luke warm and like cardboard, but couldn’t complain as they were not answering the phone . ( I wonder why) apart from that hotel ok with good location

We upgraded to a ‘suite’ for an extra £30 for the night but sadly this decision didn’t really pay off. The room did have a sitting area but the two windows were tiny and the lighting poor which made the whole place feel very dark. This may have been a blessing though as it made the multiple nasty stains on the carpet in all spaces less noticeable. It was also very near the elevator and from 6am this was very busy and noisy. On the plus side there was a mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks and a good amount of sundries to make hot drinks. We bought 2 drinks at the bar on arrival and were charged a 90p service charge! The hotel is ideally placed for exploring the offerings of Bristol city centre, which is probably the reason for the price they charge - it’s certainly not for the quality of the rooms! We will probably look elsewhere next time we stay in Bristol

Our historic building does mean some rooms have smaller windows, adding to the character, but we're looking into brighter lighting solutions to enhance the ambiance. The stains you mentioned are certainly not up to our usual standards, and we're addressing this oversight. I am currently in my hotel room . I booked a ‘quiet room’ . Last night, I experienced a screaming porn show from the room next door , it was quite a performance. Following that , the couple laughed and shouted for another hour, concluding at 2am. I am now in my ‘quiet room ‘ as I type this and there is music pumping out loudly from somewhere in the hotel . If I wasn’t so tired right now I would drive myself back to London! Speaking of driving , the car that the hotel advertises is actually the public car park next door and you will be charged £17 per night !
