A pleasant stay, good location, easy walking distance to town Centre, free parking, swift check in, ample space in rooms, clean and fresh. Very helpful staff, thank you Sarah for always assisting us if we had a question, needed information or just wanted to grab a coffee, would definately stay again if in Sarlat

A standard basic Ibis about a 20 minute walk from Sarlat's centre. Excellent car parking with direct access to the lift from its underground section. Very basic bar where a good breakfast is served. Opposite a very good restaurant. .

The best attributes of Ibis Sarlat are easy walking distance to the town centre and secure on-site parking. Otherwise, it seemed like most other Ibis hotels where we've stayed. A relatively compact room with fairly comfortable bed and adequate bathroom facilities. No extras such as in-room tea or coffee making or fridge. Overall it was fine for a three-night stay and the advance booking rate was very good.

Nice welcome upon arrival and although we were half an hour early for check in the room was available. Large free car park to the rear on three levels accessible by barrier operated by the room key. Only booked a standard room but surprised by the size and level of finishes therein. Good AC and prefabricated type bathroom to the corner. Bathroom nicely finished with walk in shower, basin and toilet. Beds are a bit on the hard side as they only appear to be divan bases with thin mattress toppers with very little give. We were on the top floor so no noise from above but neither was there any noise from adjacent rooms or below so good soundproofing between rooms. Circulation areas in hotel pretty well maintained and clean. Went to the bar each day for a drink but found no consistency in either the level of service or prices. On our first day we ordered drinks with a very friendly young lady and just paid no problem. On the second day we ordered the same drinks with not such a friendly young lady and went to pay and were told we have to give our room number. I said I did not want to charge the drinks but was told it was still necessary. Gave my room number and then found the same round of drinks had risen in price by €5.70 from the previous day. I queried what would happen if I was drinking in the bar and was not a resident and was told it would go to a different account.? Could not fault the location of the hotel particularly with the free parking. It is an easy 10 minute - 1/2 mile walk to the edge of the main town where there are numerous cafes and restaurants where limited parking is available. Did not bother with breakfast at the hotel as there were coach parties each day during our stay so did not want to fight for a tray or space and get coffee out of the machine which is generally pretty poor. Plenty of nice cafes and patisseries in Sarlat to choose from with nice coffee and croissants or “pain aux raisins” which are delicious. Do check your bill carefully on checkout as I was asked about the drinks I had taken at the bar, but after explaining I had already paid at the time of ordering it was then sorted. Probably best to charge to the room if you do use the bar. We found the hotel itself to be a great place to stop in terms of location and room quality for the price. Our only disappointment was the varying level of service. The young girl and young gentleman we met on our first day were extremely friendly and welcoming. Whilst the young gentleman was there on subsequent days and again very welcoming the ladies working with him were not so. Great place to stop but service depends who is working on any particular day.

For our stay in Sarlat-La-Canéda we had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights for 4 people, including breakfast. The staff was friendly, breakfast reasonable, as a tour bus had arrived and there was a shortage of staff for breakfast. We had also booked breakfast through Booking for € 10.50 and we were charged € 12.50, so € 16 too much for 4 people. At the reception Mrs. Bettina told us that the boss was not there, but it was going to be refunded, which has not happened yet, we wrote to booking and the hotel, but no response from both sides, so no more stay in Ibis Sarlat Center, and also we have our doubts about booking.com.
