Raffles Bali is incredible. Just go! We went for our 20th anniversary and so glad we did. The resort is beautiful - truly one of the nicest I’ve ever seen and because it is only 32 villas, it is private, quiet, and never have a problem getting a table or seat anywhere. The villas are amazing. The food is excellent. But even with all that, what really stands out is the service. The staff are all, to a person, incredibly friendly and helpful. Our Raffles Butler arranged several day trips for us and just took care of everything from arrival to departure. Within hours of arriving we were relaxed and never wanted to leave! We will be back and would recommend this to anyone looking for an incredibly special experience.

I stayed at this resort and thought that it was a pretty enjoyable stay. The resort had an elevated level of service, thanks to its relatively small room count. I would especially like to thank my butler, Seva. He was competent and diligent. He started to be in contact with me even before my stay, and answered my pre-arrival enquires. During the stay he took great care of me as well. The resort offered complimentary airport transport, and complimentary non-alcoholic drinks in mini-bar. All these were great perks that made you feel not being nickel-and-dimed. Overall, this resort is a better choice compared to the Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay next door, which is always very busy and crowded.

Review of Raffles Bali Pre-arrival Communication: Throughout the pre-arrival process, there were multiple reminders regarding cancellation fees, despite the accommodation bill being settled in advance. While appreciating the thoroughness of the process, it seemed a tad excessive given the circumstances. Arrival Experience: Upon arrival, our experience was marked by delays in being located by the airport staff, a less-than-ideal first impression while claimed to be VIP greeting. Staff Demeanor: Throughout our stay, we encountered a sense of uptight from the staff, which, while questionably professional, occasionally veered towards a more unpleasant demeanor. A warmer and more welcoming approach could elevate the overall guest experience. Amenities: The resort boasts an array of amenities that undoubtedly enhance the guest experience. However, we did notice some oversights in the setup, such as nearly expired products, which could benefit from closer attention to detail. Room Amenity Replenishment: While the room amenities were undoubtedly luxurious, we did notice some inconsistency in their replenishment. A more standardized approach to this aspect of the guest experience could further enhance the stay. Butler Service: Our interactions with the butler service highlighted some challenges, particularly in arranging certain activities. While we appreciate the effort, there were instances where our requests were not fully met, indicating a potential area for improvement. Food and Service: The culinary offerings at Raffles Bali are commendable, showcasing a blend of creativity and culinary expertise. However, there were occasional instances of order misunderstandings and overcooked dishes, which, while a few, were noticeable. Cleanliness: The cleanliness of the resort is undoubtedly paramount, and for the most part, it was maintained to a high standard. However, we did notice a few isolated instances, such as greasy plates and stained jugs, which detracted from the overall experience. Restaurant Limitations: While understanding the challenges of managing a conceptual dining experience, we were disappointed not to be able to accommodate a simple request at Rumari. With low occupancy levels, we believed such flexibility could have been extended. Luxury = Freedom. Management Response: Throughout our stay, there was a notable absence of proactive management intervention. While we did receive a gracious apology upon departure from Ms. Bernadine, we felt a more timely and proactive approach to addressing issues during our stay would have been appreciated. Overall Disappointment: Reflecting on our time at Raffles Bali, there were moments of disappointment amidst the beauty of the surroundings and the luxury of the amenities. It's important to acknowledge these moments with humility, recognizing that there is always room for improvement. Service Over Amenities: In the reality of luxury hospitality, it's often the personalized service that leaves the most lasting impression. While the amenities at Raffles Bali are undoubtedly impressive, a renewed focus on delivering exceptional service could further elevate the guest experience. Recognition of Notable Staff: Through our observations, it's important to highlight the exemplary efforts of certain staff members who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Their dedication is a testament to the caliber of service at Raffles Bali. Nik, Aan, all therapists at the Spa, and Ms Sophia (Director of Spa and Retail). Concept: While the resort's physical attributes are undeniably stunning, we couldn't help but feel that there was a missed opportunity to infuse more personality into the overall concept. A more distinct and cohesive theme could further enrich the guest experience. In conclusion, our time at Raffles Bali was marked by moments of both delight and reflection. While there is certainly room for improvement, we remain grateful for the opportunity to experience the beauty of this resort and look forward to witnessing its ongoing evolution

All-villa Dreamy Luxury in Jimbaran

In March 2024, I checked into the Ocean Pool Villa at Raffles Bali. Perched on Bukit Peninsula overlooking Jimbaran Bay, the 32-key resort is spread across 23 hectares of land, making it the largest Raffles property in the world. Jimbaran Beach and its famed seafood restaurants are nearby, while Ngurah Rai International Airport is just 20 minutes away. RAFFLES BALI The resort is set on hilly land with lush tropical gardens, waterfall features and bridges as well as a river which cuts through the sprawling premises. All the villas face the ocean, with the airport runway – and flight take-offs and landings – visible in the distance. (Pro tip: the Hilltop Pool Villas next to the lushly vegetated valley enjoy the most privacy, whilst the Panoramic Ocean Pool Villas boast the most intimate vistas). Upon arrival at the resort lobby, guests are welcomed with live Balinese music and greeted by their individual Raffles Wellbeing Butler, to whom they would have been introduced via email prior to their stay. You will then be invited to undergo the metirta cleansing ritual, during which water is sprinkled on you and rice grains are gently pressed onto your forehead as part of offering thanks to the gods. While your check-in is being processed, you are whisked to The Writer’s Bar – a Raffles brand staple – for a refreshing welcome cocktail. (Those who need some respite from the tropical heat can choose to rest inside the adjoining library, which also serves as a lounge and private space.) My butler, Julian, will go on to serve as my contact point throughout my stay via WhatsApp for buggy requests, dining/programme reservations as well as other forms of miscellaneous assistance. In terms of wellness, the resort offers a spa, two tennis courts, a fitness centre as well as a 25m beachfront infinity pool with an abundance of sunbeds next to Loloan Beach Bar and Grill. The Secret Cave, a natural limestone cave located near the arrival area, has been repurposed as a destination for meditation sessions and private dinners. There is also a retail boutique. While there is a schedule of daily complimentary guest activities such as yoga, botanical tours, canang sari (religious offering) making, cycling and Balinese dance classes, guests can also consider visits to Uluwatu Temple and Bali Zoo, rafting, Tibetan singing bowl therapy, reiki sessions, 7-chakra balacing, soul blessing as well as fire cleaning rituals, all of which are offered as payable guest experiences. During my stay, I went for a complimentary cocktail-making class at Loloan, and had a stab at shaking, stirring and making my very own Bali Sling. OCEAN POOL VILLA Boasting its own 35sqm private pool with an outdoor garden and plush-cushioned gazebo, the 470sqm Ocean Pool Villa offers soothing views of the Indian Ocean in the distance. The villa is decked in earthy tones, Indonesian hardwood floors and furniture made using locally-sourced materials such batik fabrics, rattan and wood. The bed faces the ocean for that dreamy island feel when you first wake up, while the work desk (which you really shouldn’t be spending too much time at during your stay) offers soothing garden views. A copy of Soirees, Sojourns & Stories by Raffles (which I also found in my suites at Raffles Hotel Singapore and Raffles Hotel Le Royal Phnom Penh) is on hand for your deep-dive into the luxury brand’s illustrious history. The spacious bathroom offers double vanities, a Japanese bidet toilet, indoor and outdoor showers as well as a window-side bathtub facing the outdoor garden with pool. The drawers are stocked with collectible grey and white Raffles Bali-branded amenity bags along with a variety of beauty products such as eye contour creams, sun body creams, face-body mists and lip balms. Bathroom amenities are house-branded and stored in ceramic containers. After we returned to the villa from dinner at Rumari, we were greeted by pots of soothing herbal teas and snacks as well as Raffles Bali fabric bracelets as part of turn-down service. I Stayed in Raffles Bali for the past 3 nights - where we celebrated our wedding anniversary and my birthday- and what a memorable stay it was! We are used to hotels just providing us the token slice of cake to celebrate the above milestones, so we were surpsied at the lengths that the staff at Raffles Bali went to in preparing our villa for the occasion. To say that our stay is personalized - is not a hyperbole. We were greeted with Handwritten notes each night- as well as little snacks / tea, which the staff prepared according to our preference. There were times when we expressed our likes / dislikes in passing , but every feedback was taken in seriously by the staff there. In our first day, we were personally welcomed by the resort's Director of Culinary and also the General Manager: everywhere we went we were greeted by smiles and undivided attention. Special thanks to our Wellness Butler - who never said no to our requests- and remained contactable throughout the stay. I honestly could not remember a time when we needed something and was left wanting. Communication with the hotel began a week before we arrived. We stayed in the Ocean view villa. Being a new hotel, everything was well maintained , and there were at least 10+ diffient amenities in the toilet drawer.including things like fresh aloe vera and facial wash. The pool was clean and there was more than ample places to lounge aroud. Loved seeing the little birds chill around the villa outside. Breakfast everyday at the Rumari was top notch. Loved the cook to order format - which ensured that the food arrived fresh. The nasi uduk was delicious . We'be been to Bali probably about Six times now, and Raffles Bali is definitely the most luxurious and tranquil of all the five star resorts that we've stayed in. Sometimes it comes at the expense of things to do in the resort. But if a peaceful getaway is what you're after (read: don't want to struggle with crowds to people in the common pool) , Raffles Bali would be the perfect place for you.
