Great Location, Good Stay, Could use a facelift

I always enjoy staying at The Mantra, however, this location could use a bit of a facelift. Overall my 3 nights was 'good' and I would definitely stay here again. My room (403) was a bit pokey and the dryer did not work (the instructions were for a different brand of machine which on checkout I was told they were aware of) however, my colleagues' rooms were a much better design etc. so I think it was just luck of the draw. The staff were pleasant and as mentioned the location is the main selling point. The complimentary snacks and wine were a lovely touch.

Unfortunately the last minute night out in the city didn’t start off very well. Our last night out before our baby is due in a couple weeks. Checked in to the hotel and was given room #105. Check in was very quick and easy and the staff member was extremely nice. The front counter and office could do with a freshen up though. Walked in to our room, thought it was strange that there was a towel on the floor in the bathroom but then when we saw the blood on the bed and that was it, first impression was locked in. Immediately walked back out and went to reception who was extremely apologetic and after about 20min, we were given another room on a different floor. Really disappointing and unfortunately won’t be staying there again when there’s so many other options in Melbourne.

Good location but room needs attention carpet frayed, water leaking constantly in bathroom, kitchen counter top very discoloured walls scratched up. I have stayed before but it is looking outdated check in was a little wait and didn’t have a priority checkin for Accor members on check out couldn’t find the receptionist so left the keys

As an ACCOR Member, the Variety of accommodation types and locations is second-to- one. For a 5 day / night stay my requirements were to be homely with creature comforts of full kitchen, lounge room - separate from a full-size bedroom with ample closet space, separate bathroom & self-laundering facilities, with daily Breakfast included. And being in the hub of the CBD with a LOT going on around - noisy Trams, Pubs, Clubs, etc., needed to have soundproofed glass with an outlook view as well as windows that could open for fresh air-flow, so as not to be stuffy inside with reverse-cycle air-conditioning. Mantra 100 Exhibition provided ALL of these requirements for the stay. Further, though we spent a LOT of time out of the Apartment, the Stereo was not working and we wanted to use it. A call to Concierge and the Duty Manager came up to test the operation and after calling the onsite Technician returned with a missing Antenna / Aerial. The Sony system was deemed to not be working, so the system was replaced with a new one!! With no blanket and only a Double doona on a Queen size bed, a plush Queen microfibre blanket was brought to the Apartment upon request. Also on long stays we prefer not to have Housekeeping, but maintain cleanliness and separate our garbage - as we would at home. However. they did come in whilst we were out to do basic housekeeping, replace Towels, vacuum, re-make the bed (as it was on arrival). ALL the Concierge / Reception/ Housekeeping staff were friendly polite and extremely accommodating. It was a busy time over the Labour Day weekend and there were many events on in the locale. Disappointedly I witnessed a couple of guests express annoyance at late delivery of Breakfast packs or waiting for check-in - as a situation occurred requiring staff to have front desk unattended - though with a sign explaining the reason and apologies for the inconvenience. I wish some people were a little more respectful of 'service / hospitality' staff, they are NOT servants! And when each person was being attended to - for whatever reason, they gave full time and attention to those requirements. Thank You Mantra Staff!! Mantra 100 Exhibition was Fabulous for the purpose of our stay prior to check out and moving to our next accommodation house for a Special Occasion Weekend. ALL - ACCOR LIVE LIMITLESS!!

We had driven over from Adelaide and found the hotel easily, we unloaded out the front and parked just around the corner in a multistorey park short and sweet visit but all good here. very close to the theatres and restaurant's and rooftop bars
