Very stylish spacious white rooms. Plenty of cupboard space. Comfortable but bathroom layout might not suit everyone. Great views especially from breakfast room/bar. We had a slight problem with one of the showers but the staff dealt with it professionally and all in all the staff were helpful and friendly which helps a lot The location is about 10 minutes walk to centre and is close to U Bahn and airport bus.

A real 5* hotel in Vienna. Previous trips we spent in another hotel 5* Melia, much worse feeling, while the standard of rooms similar. Beautiful Das Loft bar, where you get à la carte breakfast and full buffet. For the evening I recommend drinks in the restaurant, during the weekend the DJ makes the time more pleasant. The view from the 18th floor is beautiful. Hotel close to the center, less than 15min walk to the cathedral. We will definitely return to SO/ Vienna again.

The hotel is near downtown - breakfast provided. The Bed is good, you have somtimes a view at the cathedral. Turn-Down-Service has very much potential. The garage is good, the Spa-Area not. Very unfriendly staff and only one small sauna. Very disappointed.

We had a lovely city break staying here in February. Primarily we had booked it as a central hotel with a sauna and it was only after booking we saw the incredible views from the bar / breakfast room! Our room was comfortable and also had good views over the city. It’s obviously quite a trendy place to eat and drink - there were queues outside the hotel to come up to the bar on Friday and Saturday night. As hotel guests you can just head straight up in the lift. It does make breakfast busy at weekends as many non-residents seem to come for brunch. We loved the sauna at the end of each day of sight-seeing (Brits be aware, like in Germany no bathing suits worn in the sauna).

Located on the banks of the Danube Canal, not far from St. Stephen's Cathedral, the SO/ Vienna welcomes its guests in the Nouvel Tower, designed by French star architect Jean Nouvel. Opened in 2010 as Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom, the five-star hotel underwent an extensive facelift of the lobby as well as the 182 rooms & suites & reopened after a rebranding under Accor's luxury lifestyle brand SO/ in 2018. During my visit, I stayed in a SO COMFY room located on the 15th floor & overlooking St. Stephen's Cathedral as well as downtown Vienna. All rooms are designed in white & gray tones, each with breathtaking views of the highlights of the Austrian capital. Covering an area of ​​38 square meters, the gray rooms offer a king-size bed, a desk, a seating area, a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV, a Nespresso coffee machine & tea-making facilities, as well as a Bose wave sound system. The open-plan bathrooms, which can be separated from the rest of the room by sliding elements, feature two sinks, a bathtub, a rain shower & toiletries by the Viennese brand Saint Charles Apothecary. The toilets are located in a separate room next to the entrance. Located on the 18th floor, Das LOFT is the main restaurant with a 360 degree view of beautiful Vienna & offers breakfast, dinner & brunch on weekends. The integrated rooftop bar invites to enjoy a sundowner. The breakfast buffet offers a good selection of rolls, croissants, cold cuts, spreads, salads, hummus, cheese, salmon, fruits, cereals, yoghurt, fruit juices , fresh meatloaf & sausages. The buffet selection is complemented by a choice of complimentary warm dishes prepared à la carte. The selection of à la carte dishes ranges from eggs royal with smoked Viennese catfish, grilled mushroom sausages & Shakshuka to waffles or pancakes, among others. The unique, timeless design & the generously sized rooms, coupled with an excellent location in the center of the Austrian capital, make the SO/Vienna an excellent starting point for a business or private stay in the city, even 14 years after the hotel's opening.
