great location, comfortable room except for noise from train

Request a room on the side opposite of the train tracks. The other side is VERY close to the train. There are double windows so when they are closed you don't hear the noise very much. But it was hot in our room (heat was on automatically and we couldn't not turn it off) so we wanted the windows open for cooler air. It would be good if each individual room could control the temperature.

Excellent experience. We arrived in the night (around 11:30 PM) and all went fine and smooth to get the room and all the required information. We were also able to have the breakfast very early in the morning. The service was perfect.

all y need is there, dining is also ok, some are apparantly giving negative comments, but one cannot compare this with third-party restaurants, the staff is very friendly, helpfull and fast, the food & drinks are ok, so no complains

I paid €119 for 3 of us to stay here 2 nights, this included taxe de sejour and undercover parking for 2 days too. Really good value for money, we thought. The bedroom was compact but it's only for sleeping so no issue for us. My daughter had a nice pull out bed next to us. There were back it blinds which were great and aircon which was needed this weekend as 30 degrees outside! It was very quiet in the hotel which is a plus! 15 min walk to Parc de la Tete d'or, there's a walk way directly opposite the hotel which was lit up at night and a lovely walk through a pretty park and over a wooden bridge. Just over the bridge were plenty of restaurants and cafes which was handy as you're not right in the centre of the city here. In the immediate vicinity there is a shop which is open late, a kebab house and a few restaurants dotted down the street only a 5-6 min walk from the hotel. Overall we were very happy here.

Ideal hotel to stay when spending your days at Cité Internationale

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights when I was attending a conference at the Cité Internationale (Lyon Congress Centre). Overall, I enjoyed my experience. Most importantly, the rooms in the hotels were clean and good. I was a bit afraid that I wouldn't sleep too well based on the comments I read about the railway passing by close to the hotel, but luckily I didn't have any problems with it. I was able to hear the trains, but the noise didn't prevent me from falling asleep and didn't wake me up at night. However, if you are a difficult sleeper that is sensitive to noise, I would not recommend this hotel unless you are able to ensure you get a room away from the railway side. The shower in the bathroom was very good. Air conditioning worked but not perfectly, there were some hot days during my stay and I didn't really manage to keep the room cool. The only thing that was missing was a fridge to keep my bottles of water cool. WiFi connection in the room was included and was very good. I didn't have breakfast, but the hotel also offers a restaurant to have lunch or dinner. I went once for dinner, and the food was good but a bit expensive. Service was really good. The multiple people I came in contact with at the reception were very friendly and always ready to help me with my questions. They offer a locked luggage room where you can store your luggage on the day of your check-in or check-out. Location of the hotel is good when going on a conference in the Cité Internationale: it's only 10 tot 15 minutes walking. Take the pedestrian bridge crossing the Rhône, it is beautiful! If you go on a tourist trip to Lyon, the location of the hotel is not so good. It is too far away from the touristic areas (Presqu'île, Vieux-Lyon) to walk; there is a bus connection (ask at the reception!) but they don't run very frequently. Overall, good value for money, certainly recommended, especially for business people that need to spend their days in the Cité Internationale, and are not too difficult sleepers.
