Great Views, Room not so good

Whilst the views are gorgeous , the room was tired and needs a revamp. Dishwasher not working ( water sitting in the bottom of it and starting to smell).Stains on carpets and lounges and bathroom needs to be retiled. Housekeeping advised that no it wasn't mould (it looked like it) but salt water coming through?? TV kept cutting out. We have been nice to have a pod machine for coffee instead of just plain old Nescafe satchets. For what we paid per night (nearly $500.00 ) definitely NOT value for money.

Getting rather old, tired and knocked around. Large rooms with laundry facilities, that are great after a few days at sea, cruising the Abrolhos islands. The restaurant attached is Skeeters aand is very good. Charge back to your room is available for an extra 10% on the bill (regardless of how big or small the bill was). Pool area was good.

Better Than Expected After Previous Reviews

Was dreading our stay at Mantra Geraldton due to some previous bad reviews on cleanliness. We had a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom unit and while I couldn’t say the place was pristine it was not anything as bad as the previous reviews. The bed linen and towels were very clean. Carpet was vacuumed and floors had been washed. Bathrooms had been cleaned but there was some mould as is usual in a building of this age. Did find the layout of the apartment a bit strange. There is an upstairs bedroom - more a loft as you can’t shut out the noise from below. Also no bathroom upstairs so really only suitable for older kids and younger adults who are steady on their feet. Secure parking was good and there was a nice restaurant nearby on the waterfront where we had breakfast. It is however not part of the Mantra. Asked for a later checkout and my Platinum Status was recognised and it was granted.

Filthy, fast food wrappers under bed

-5 because it was FILTHY. Look at the photos. Would you pay over $400 per night to stay here? Booking.com extremely misleading with their photos and hidden bad reviews. We arrived for a sport carnival to find 2 bed apartment with filthy floors & walls, a soiled towel, rotten egg smell coming from the aircon, fast food wrappers under the bed, thick dust, moulding bathroom with toilet roll holder hanging off the wall. No one on reception after 8pm and we had travelled in late. Next day complained, was told it would be cleaned but came back that night and nothing was cleaned.

Filthy and broken - manager refusing refund

Filthy and disappointing. We paid $263 for one night which is not cheap. Walking in the apartment was noticeably dirty, especially in the bathrooms with people’s hair everywhere. Bugs all over and mosquitos coming in from somewhere so we were bitten all night (checked doors and windows all shut). The water was turned off due to maintenance works so we couldn’t shower, wash hands, brush teeth. Not hotels fault but just added to the misery. The aircon in the bedroom turned on but no cold air came out. We were hot, dirty and covered in mosquito bites. Finally able to have a shower in the morning and the showers were covered in mould, pubes and bugs. Asked for a refund and the hotel is refusing. Guess they think that’s a night worth $260?! As aside, the pool is dirty and apparently the locked car park is also subject to break ins. Take it from me - it is NOT worth the money or misery.
