great location and hotel, let down by the bathroom

We got a one bedroom with the harbour view. the harbour views are fantastic, the bed is comfortable and the couch, kitchen table and work desk are all very functional. the location is brilliant and despite my complaint below, i would happily stay here again, just not in the same room. However the hotel room is let down by the bathroom. The shower doesnt have a very good drain, so whilst showering water pools in the tub up to ankle height. the toilet doesnt have a toilet roll holder, or a decent exhaust fan, which in tropical darwin is a problem, with your towels simply not drying in the bathroom. I would dry myself in the bathroom, then stand naked under a fan in the living room to dry. the hotel has a nice bar area down below where you can get work done in a cool, but tropical atmosphrere. the serveice was fantastic, and they got my bathroom light fixed when I asked for it to be fixed.

We booked a 1 bedroom suite but were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which was good. We had breakfast included which was part of the room rate but I would rate the breakfast below average in my opinion. I thought it was one of those espresso machines you normally would find in hotels such of this but on closer inspection it was a Nescafe instant coffee machine that made awful coffee with instant coffee and powder. I did order a barista coffee which was extra but that wasn't much better. All reception staff were excellent and attentive to any queries or requests, bar staff were great as well. The room was great, the pool area was pretty ordinary and very dated. The location was good and seems to have a few FIFO's along with some families staying. I would stay here again as the accommodation/location was good, breakfast was average.

Platinum Accor member. Booked and received a junior suite for 3 nights. Not really a suite standard. No fridge, just a cooler that doesn’t cool, reported and ordered ice. Fridge provided next day. Poor room maintenance with a lot of issues that would be easily fixed. Tiny bath tub with shower over bath. No walk in shower available although pictured in my booking. Breakfast was poor as all the hot food was cold as it had been sitting for so long. Thankfully all the staff I dealt with were excellent. This hotel is very much in need of a renovation. The other Accor hotels in Darwin were excellent, I would not recommend this hotel

On arrival we were greeting by a lovely receptionist who informed us our room had been upgraded to a suite. How lovely! Internally, the galleria is just beautiful and resembles a tropical oasis. We opted for the prepaid breakfast and the selection was wonderful. Our room had a coffee pod machine and a selection of nice Twining teas (I am a big tea & coffee lover), so I was delighted. I had booked two rooms, one for a friend (we were all attending a concert), she was unfortunately unable to attend due to a tragic event (made the news). The Novotel staff were so helpful in showing me how to cancel her room and then they went above and beyond and waived her cancellation costs. A big thank you so much. I had requested a 'quiet' room because we are bush residents and are quite sensitive to 'urban' noise LOL. The room was wonderfully quiet. And of course, the Novotel is on the Darwin Esplanade so walking distance to the centre of town. Perfect.

Rubbiedub Zaken - Gecertificeerde beoordeling door TripAdvisor

Fijne, schone en grote kamers (slaapgedeelte en studie gedeelte met extra tv. Ruime badkamer. Helaas een douche in bad (niet meer 2017). Kamer was helaas nabij de lift en housekeeping werkkamer, wat 's morgens extra rumoer gaf. Verders voldoende parkeergelegenheid, achter het gebouw en zelfs overdekt en het naast gelegen complex. Het ontbijt was goed en smaakvol, maar helaas iedere dag hetzelfde. Zelfs het uitgebreidere buffet. Het atrium ziet er een beetje verwilderd en verwaarloost uit en de balkons mogen wel een witkwast gebruiken.
