Awesome place to have a few nights away. The restaurant and bar areas have such beautiful views. Lots of things to do in the area too. I think it would be super fun to hang out by the pool during the day and see a show at the Greek Theater at night - it's super close!

We booked a deluxe room with 2 queens. Upon check in we were told floor 8 and 9 had no heat. We were put in 4th floor room that had zero view with rooftop blocking any outside anything. They moved us into a standard room on 5th floor unbeknownst to us . Small bathroom and 2 full size beds. The next morning we were put back into our 4th floor room after we brought this to front desk attention. Also we had problems with the heat in our room which seemed to work intermittently. The hallways and lobby were cold. Staff wearing jackets. Just an overall miss for a property of this caliber.

The Claremont is well located in the Berkeley hills with excellent views of SF Bay and the SF skyline.

The staff was professional and courteous. When I booked the room I mentioned that it was to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We received a room upgrade. We found a surprise in our room, there was a bottle of Prosecco and a cake. Both were very good.

I love the hotel but this time at breakfast I was told you have no cook was offered random scrambled eggs and the bread left from yesterday and was still charged full price for breakfast. I am also a gold member and got none of my benefits waiting in the room. The front desk was truly lovely but the rest seems not to be up to their level

We checked in at approx 4:15pm on the day of our check in. Our room was not ready. It was cleaned, but not "inspected". So, we left our luggage with the front desk, went to Limewood and ate, which we billed to our room, #408. The bartender asked if I was Chris, I told him no, I'm Brian P.. He said, "okay, we'll figure it out". So we go to the room, only to find out our key for room 408 doesn't work. Go back to the front desk, advise them of the issue. Turns out, the wrong room number was written on our key pack. Now, they can't find our luggage. Jonas was nice, but the fact that our luggage was delivered to the wrong room, which it took them 45 mins to sort it out. This was unsettling, for any hotel, but specifically a hotel as nice/prestigious as the Claremont. Jonas and another woman ended up resolving it, but we were 45 mins without any knowledge of the valuables in our luggage, which was unacceptable. We were compensated with two free drinks vouchers and free desserts, and our lunch was covered. None of which we asked for. I won't ever stay at the Claremont again given how disorganized it was on such easy tasks (literally checking in and putting luggage in the correct room). As mentioned above, I wouldn't expect this experience at any hotel, but definitely not at one that we're paying as much as we did for "luxury".
