The hotel is well maintained and breakfast quality was good. The hotel location was pretty good for my purpose. Some things that I would like to see improvements on: 1. The room heating system was not working for most of the time. The staff was helpful and reset the central heating several times and also offered a portable heater. 2. The room has no drawer at all. The closet is OK for hanging clothes, but drawers are indeed required. 3. The safe is installed above the refrigerator and becomes very hot (even inside), once locked. I didn't realize this and kept my passport and important papers in it. When I retrieve these 2 days later, I realized that the heat could have damaged my passport and papers.

I didn't stay at the hotel. When I booked online, I had a message saying the booking had been unsuccessful and to try again later. I ended up booking another hotel. Little did I know, the booking showed up on Accor's system as being successful and have been charged for the two rooms. The manager has twice refused a refund even though it was a technical glitch in Accor’s booking system

Just returned from 2 nights at Mercure Haymarket. What a gem. Reception staff were amazing.... really helpful and friendly. Room was equipped with everything I needed and I slept soundly both nights. Quiet neighbourhood but just a short walk from all major attractions. I will definately return.

Air conditioning did not work and was going to bed when realised so too late to ask reception. Breakfast was too busy with a large party of American guests. We were asked to sit at the bar as no table available, yet the next couple were taken to a table. They were American so I guess they were given priority. Not impressed and very disappointed with the experience.
