I had a lovely stay at this hotel. I hesitated between 4 and 5 stars, bust rest assured that if I had occasion to be back in Grenoble I’d happily stay here again. The good: The staff was absolutely lovely! Very nice, friendly, and helpful. I also liked the size of my room. I booked the largest room and was blown away by the amount of space! I especially loved the large walkout balcony and amazing views if the neighboring Parc Mistrel and surrounding mountains. The bed was reasonably comfortable, and I especially appreciated the large bathroom that was stocked with Clarins products. The living/dining area was great for entertaining and I loved relaxing in the loungers watching the TV at night before bed. I also appreciated all of the 1968 Olympic decor. Location was also nice as we were no more than a lovely 15 minute walk from the gare, tourist sites, and there was a grocery store right around the corner. The not so good: The hotel is showing its age and is in need of a remodel. It’s been a while since I’ve stayed in a hotel where an actual key is required to open the door. The biggest issue I faced was the WiFi. On the day I arrived, the WiFi would only reliably connect from the living/dining room; if I were in the bedroom area it would connect. By around the last two days, the WiFi was completely broken and wouldn’t reliably connect anywhere in the room. This was not a huge problem as I did not NEED WiFi but the last night we were there we couldn’t even connect the TV to the WiFi (so no Netflix, YouTube, etc.). I did not partake in any of the food options offered by the hotel even though breakfast was included in my rate.

Water temperature issue

Water temperature for shower and bath is ONLY LUKEWARM, it is unacceptable for the very cold winter. Staff said it was because of full house guest, and it will get better after more of the guests left hotel, but it didn’t get better at all. Water temperature was from lukewarm to warm only. It is very bad, I won’t return unless I can take a HOT shower. Heaters inside rooms is not functioning well. Set for 25c, but sometimes it turns to 22c automatically, I believe the heater was programmed specifically and guess cannot change it. Electricity went off for 3 mornings consecutively, each time was about 5-8minutes.
