Good location and good, spacious room. Bed smelled of sweat, which was unpleasant. Good value in comparison to prices of hotels located in Monaco.

Terrible service, from reception to stay

I travelled all over the world for business purposes, I can conclude that the Adagio Montecristo is the worst experience ever. Receptionist ladies are everything but customer care, they should follow some courses as at the moment their attention and care for clients is equal to zero. I complained politely as the first night I was waken up by the cleaning lady at 3.30 am (yes you read it correctly, 3.30 am) who moving the laundry trolleys back and forth in the corridor just in front of my room. I was given room 106 which is super uncomfortable due to its position right in front of the laundry room (and right on by the noisy road), despite the hotel was almost empty, being January. I asked to change my room, and she told me (not in nice or diplomatic way, nor using apologies words) that would not happen again. And 2 days after, same thing at 4am. I asked for the invoice with clearly indicating the company details and nothing, they was not able to provide it. I left on Friday and I received during the weekend another wrong invoice. After again, back and forth of emails, again another mistake. I believe the Hotel manager should really look deeply into the service, as it is not good at all. The hotel is very conveniently located as it is 3 minutes walking from our HQ, but I will go for the Novotel next time, with no doubt. I have no problem if you wish to contact me for more details: T. Not much included for an expensive stay

Housekeeping not included for stays under 7 nights so we had to use the same towels, buy our own toilet paper, empty the trash, and were expected to strip the bed at the end of our stay. All of which were unnecessary considering the price of the stay. Kitchen equipped with a coffee maker but no pods. These had to be bought at the reception at a considerable markup from supermarket price. We did not succeed in finding a suitable brand of pods in the shops as supermarkets are far and few between in Monte Carlo. Staff was nice and helpful but all in all we were left with a bad impression as not even the bare minimum was included in the price of a night’s stay. In addition our room was directly opposite an air vent which blew the smell of everyone’s cooking directly in to our room at certain times. Not sure which demographic this type of hotel is aimed at.

The experience was overall very good. The location was good for being able to visit Monaco and it’s a very cost effective option. All the equipment worked and the staff were friendly (though one seemed a little less interested). One complaint, there was no way to turn on or control the heating so it was always freezing cold, which was a stark contrast to the very hot lobby; good thing the bed covers are very warm.
