We chose the Sofitel based on positive experiences in the past at other Sofitel properties. I'm guessing the property was not originally built as a hotel as there was limited public spaces. For example, the lobby consists of one long upholstered bench along a narrow hallway and a small room for morning coffee with only two chairs. Our room was quiet and we appreciated the proximity to the elevator. An odd feature is opaque glass doors separating the bathroom from the bed area. We had a good breakfast in the restaurant. Door staff were very efficient and professional. Excellent location for walking to the Mall, White House and many good restaurant choices nearby.

Every single staff member we interacted with exemplified hospitality. The staff were warm, welcoming, professional and kind. Valet, front desk, housekeeping, restaurant and room service staff all went above and beyond to create a wonderful weekend. We were especially touched by the lovely cakes they sent up to our room to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Maria from room service was especially kind and thoughtful. We are grateful to everyone who worked so hard so that we could have a delightful weekend.
