Too hot in the room and morning staff at reception not really pleasant as I was doing the check-out.

I stayed in this hotel already quite often. As usual it was a pleasure. The stuff is friendly, the room clean and comfortable. It also is next to a tube station which makes it easy to get everywhere easy and quickly.

Unfortunately not the very best experience. Several factors. Room smelly when entered. Room was too hot. Reception said it was fixed but it was not. they offered another room for the 1 last night but we had to vacate the present room. It was 11pm. The room was not cleaned properly. The coffee/tea cups & used tea bags were not removed. I parked in the hotel. On the day of check out, I paid for the parking & shortly left. However the parking barrier did not open after scanning the ticket. Rang for help via the intercom. the reception told us to reverse back & try again. I asked to open the barrier but she didnt & insisted that we reverse back. As u know it is a sharp turn & with a bigger car difficult to manoever. Again pressed the intercom. This time no one answered & it was shut off!!! Had to go back to the reception after which they opened the barrier. This is really unacceptable. I have never experienced this at any parking, even public, let alone a private parking like this one.

Disappointing Experience at Mecure Hotel Severinshof

Upon our arrival last weekend, we were met with several issues that greatly tarnished our stay. Firstly, despite having arranged for an early check-in and driving four hours to reach Köln, we were rudely informed by a young gentleman with a beard at the reception that check-in was only available at 3 PM. Despite providing evidence of our prepayment for early check-in, he dismissed us without any consideration or apology for the inconvenience caused. Furthermore, upon entering our room, we were greeted by a foul odor of human body sweat, indicating that the sheets and pillows had not been changed since the last guests departed. This lack of cleanliness was utterly unacceptable and made our stay incredibly uncomfortable. Later, when we attempted to dine at the hotel restaurant due to inclement weather and the presence of our four-month-old baby, we were once again met with rudeness from the older, overweight gentleman managing the restaurant. He insisted that reservations were required, contradicting the information provided to us earlier that the restaurant operated on a walk-in basis. This inconsistency and his dismissive attitude towards us left us feeling disheartened and unwelcome. During the checkout process, the indifference displayed by the young staff member handling our concerns was particularly distressing. Despite voicing our grievances, she appeared disinterested and failed to acknowledge our complaints adequately. This lack of professionalism only served to exacerbate our already disappointing experience.
