Fantastic location for access to the train station. A fellow reviewer advised to head to platform 22 (Eurostar from London), then the Fonsny Ave exit, and this was spot on as the hotel is literally across the road to the left. Rooms were comfortable and clean, staff friendly and we found the breakfast had plenty choice - even for the 2 vegans in our group, as well as bring value for money. We were a group of 6 in our early 50's we didn't find any issues at all outside of the hotel, as per some previous reviews stating junkies etc. hanging around the vicinity. We walked back to the hotel on foot from the centre of Brussels at 11:30pm on a Friday evening without any problems. It is a 20 minute walk to the main square from the hotel. The following morning we took the train to Bruges, which was really easy as there were 3 trains per hour, and tickets from the automated machines in the station. All in all, this is a great hotel for stop-overs via train journeys.

Edgy, Value, Excellent Location 4 Travel

This is a tough one... The staff are super friendly and speak every language, the price point is fair considering it is less than 5 minutes walk to the Eurostar and from gare du midi you can get a train to Luxembourg Germany Holland Denmark very easy, great location for travel .Typical ibis plastic bathrooms but rooms are big and beds are comfy, TV is small and you get all canal channels. Restaurant and bar on site however if you want to explore Brussels edgy side you can ! Out the front door turn right and walk up ,5-19 minutes to the kebab shop on the right and believe me you will see what a kebab shop really is all about. Fish Meat Skewers Breads fresh baked Salads the best kebab shop in Europe including Britain. Ok if you got this far you will have of passed the piss soaked stench at gare du midi, ironic that the EU headquarters is not that far away... Like everywhere else drugs are plentiful in fact you will notice the street hustlers right outside the hotel till late around 1 am ( noise ) try and get room on the inside ring at the rear of hotel .... It's Brussels it's edgy it's raw but it's real .... Not for everyone but I used this to transition across borders every direction without issue.

Good location if you want to be close to the station

Very well located close to the station. A bit slow at check in and poor interaction but the room was clean and the bed big and comfy. I’m not a fan of listening to air conditioning in the room so we opted for an open window and the noise from early on in the morning was significant. If you want to go to the Grand Place it’s a 20 minute walk with lots of smelly bits!!!

Stay over at the start of my Belgian Holiday. Tripping by train for the week, it was a great place to stay so close to Train Station. Lots of stores and restaurants, and takeaways nearby, as well as food and drink on site. Room was great, as was breakfast next morning. All in all great start!

I know IBIS Hotel Gare Midi due to work. CONVENIENT - CLEAN - SPACIOUS are the words I would use when I am at work, without forgetting HELPFUL STAFFS. Prior to start my relaxing weekend with my two kids, I walked around the city centre to find out a cozy hotel. I ended up asking the team in Ibis Gare Midi about theirs for a "long weekend". I have been given a very reasonable price (lower than the competitions) which included breakfasts. I was still hesitating... (for other reasons than the service I know they offer). Officially on holiday the day after, the staff clearly remembered my request and did everything possible to accommodate us and to make our experience special. I can now update the words to describe IBIS Hotel Gare Midi... ATTENTION TO DETAILS - GOING EXTRA MILES for their customers - DISCRET and RESPECTFUL with a smile. A big THANK YOU to the entire team. A special thank you to Clotilde, Valerie and Romain in the front of the house. Venise and Rosa will take you to another level with their breakfast.
