Terrible customer service - would not use IBIS again after this experience. Rather than actually help out their clients they clearly don’t actually expect you to ever return anyway. Patronizing, fake politeness does not excuse this kind of service.

This hotel is wonderful, we loved the young and relaxed atmosphere. It's an excellent idea for anyone passing through Ghent and anyone looking to enjoy a comfortable stay close to the city's attractions. The rooms are spacious and the entire hotel is wheelchair accessible.

Highly recommend!

Spotless, carpet-free room with many ingenious storage spaces. Very short walk from the train station and messages about surrounding construction were much appreciated. Yves at the front desk was very helpful at check in. He gave us a tour book and map and showed us the easiest way to walk to the city centre. When we asked about lowering the room temperature, it was promptly done for us remotely....so much appreciated. An excellent stay!

Awful staff and a bit of a mess. Good location.

Upon our arrival we were met by the friendly daytime staff and we were happy with our room, the location, and everything looked great for a brilliant few days in Gent, and the rest of Belgium. We headed into town and when we got back at night once we got into bed we spotted what looked like dried blood on the cubbies above our heads where we can charge our phones. We took some photos and took this down to reception and were met by the not so friendly nighttime staff. It was past midnight at this point and we were simply chucked some new room cards and they said it looked like whiskey and was probably us that did it. If they offered to clean it, or at least help us move our bags in the middle of the night then we wouldn't have had an issue with it, after all mistakes happen. We asked to speak to the manager the next day and he took it very seriously and offered us a free breakfast which we accepted. We thought this was it and we'd go about enjoying our trip, which we did, until our last evening. We had a lovely last evening, a great dinner and then got back into our room to unwind before a long day of travelling ahead. This was until about 23:30 when I thought I heard the room door randomly open. Surely not, I thought, but there was a man standing in our room, drunk as a skunk (admittedly I cannot blame him for this, if you're in Belgium after all). . I told him to get out of our room and I think he was probably as shocked, and as scared as we were. It didn't help that he didn't speak a word of English and was blind drunk so we could not ask him to come down to reception with us to explain the situation. Needless to say we didn't get any sleep as any knocking or noise we thought it was someone else coming into our room. We went down to reception only to be met by another awful member of nighttime staff and once explaining the situation and demanding to change rooms (at this point I thought hey, who else has access to this room) we were told the hotel was full and anyone could just be saying that. As if I had nothing better to do on my last day on holiday, 12 hour travel day ahead, to be standing in the reception of this awful hotel making up some story. Upon checking out we just mentioned it to the daytime staff and that we'd be in touch with the manager and she claimed that it wasn't possible, and laughed it off. We contacted the manager, who in respect of his privacy will remain nameless, and he again promised us this was a very serious issue and he would investigate. He then replied a day later saying there was no CCTV, and that was it. I will be escalating this externally as I do not believe there was no CCTV of this event. What a shame, and what a shambles.

The hotel is excellent and well located, next to the Gent Daamport train station, and close to the historic center (about 15 minutes on foot). The entire staff is very helpful, including the manager. We had an incident at the hotel which was handled very well by the staff.
