The rooms are overall clean and nice. However many problems cause me to avoid this hotel in future : (1) I was told that room is with city view. Instead, rooms are built in rows with the window being just few feet from other room in same block. The windows are facing inward to property's same block rather than to outside view. I was told that they could replace the room next day. But of course, that room was booked and I had to come later and well, forget it. (2) The bathrooms (including WC) are with full glass wall / doors and no option to block the view. It would be pain for most including business companions. (3) There is no English speaking staff. They use translator device. (4) I tried the breakfast. Skipped from next day, as it was only good for taste choices of Chinese people. (5) Far from any decent restaurants (apart from Chinese restaurants). We walked 1.60 km for pizza. (7) You need to take a longish taxi ride for currency exchange. (8) The staff needs to be better trained to guide travellers regarding basic needs like currency exchange etc.

Pelo seu bem estar não fique nesse hotel jamais! O banheiro e o quarto são integrados, ou seja, o banheiro é dentro do quarto, ou o quarto é dentro do banheiro, o fato é que o quarto fica cheirando esgoto!!!! E não é só o meu, de todos os meus colegas foi a mesma coisa. As fronhas e lençóis cheiravam a cigarro, e pareciam que não eram lavados há tempos. Os funcionários da recepção não falam Inglês em um hotel de rede internacional!!!! Inacreditável! Mais inacreditável ainda é o café da manhã! Pelo amor de Deus não pague para tomar café aqui. Simplesmente não há o que comer, a não ser ovos cozidos e pão com manteiga! Detalhe, tivermos que implorar pelo pão porque nem isso tinha. Como se não bastasse, há dias em que acaba a água quente e você tem que tomar banho na água fria!!!! Mas não é só isso, a água do banho por vezes fica bem pouquinha.

I booked this hotel thru booking.com. I arrived at 10pm and they said they accept only cash. I complained that you accepted my reservation thru booking.com (an international site) and Ibis is an international chain. I went to the lobby and log in to check other options. After browsing around 20 minutes and finding no alternative, I decided to just check in and they informed me THE ROOM IS NOT AVAILABLE. This is classic "sticky fingers" employees who want to prefer cash . Go to Mercure Hongqiao Hotel. It is only 10 minutes from the hotel and Mercure offer Free Shuttle and great breakfast. For the same price, you get a much better deal.
