Some reviewers complain about slow checkin and the reception area is indeed under-dimensioned. The restaurant /bar is fine for breakfast (which was good and tasty) but at other times of the day it feels just wrong. When you want an evening vibe you don’t want it in a breakfast room. The ibis styles in Hobart was far better at offering a multi-purpose breakfast, bar and dinner area with a good atmosphere. The restaurant air conditioning was set far too cold to be comfortable in the evening - the staff agreed. Nevertheless the food was good and the staff friendly and helpful. But I’d recommend eating dinner somewhere more cosy (and warm). The room was well soundproofed and ok for a couple of nights, the bed was good and the bathroom perfectly ok. The hotel has the slightly funky ibis styles vibe and a good location (although the street can be a little rowdy late at night, but nothing unsafe).

There are many good reviews of this hotel, but I tend to disagree, it is not really well described as a Hotel it should be a Hostel. The rooms are small there is not a drawer in them, the front desk staff are less than helpful and understaffed for the volume of churn in the lobby resulting in line ups both coming in and checking out, with luggage strewn all over the lobby and behind the check in desk. I made my reservation by phone in person one day before my arrival based on their website, which said free breakfast and that they would charge me an extra $20 to split the double bed into two singles. The first shock was when I went into the" restaurant" for breakfast and was asked for $60 for myself and my wife, they checked with the over worked desk and were told no I didn't qualify for the free breakfast. I went down to the desk and was told that I hadn't clicked the breakfast box when I made the reservation. It's kind of hard to click a box one the phone but I could have my included breakfast if I paid a further $180 for my 3 day stay. Went over to the Hyatt across the road. where the restaurant had way mor ambience than the cafeteria self serve style of the Ibis and dont even think of having dinner there it almost an imposition for them to take your order. On check out I was charged an extra $20 as agreed to split the double bed the only problem was it never happened and it had remained a double bed for my 3 day stay. The receptionist said no problem I could pay the bill as presented and would receive a refund later after an investigation, hardly good customer satisfaction: an investigation for $20: My advise if you want a Hotel stay somewhere else

Rooms are small but have everything you need. Bed was super comfy. Room was clean and had a lovely view of the river. Great location very close to the mall bars and restaurants. Reception staff were lovely and very efficient. Highly recommend.

very good located, all very clean and modern. it's easy to arrive by bus or by car. very good view and the staff ist very friendly. i would always come back. thank you! the hotel bar is very nice. we got a welcome drink. the bed is very cosy.......

After a 4 hour drive to Brisbane you want a good experience in the city. On arrival the front desk lady was unable to help with the parking. I normally stay at the Holiday Inn, which has a set price of $25 a day. The Holiday Inn staff do something to the ticket that allows you to come and go with a set daily fee. I then asked a different person at the Ibis front desk what happens if you go out to dinner. She took my ticket and did something on the computer saying my set daily rate was $20. The next morning I booked out at 7 am after trying to get breakfast. The breakfast restaurant was full and you pay $30 per person unlike the Holiday Inn. The manager on the front desk insisted I pay $40 for my parking saying each exit is $20. She billed $40 from my card proving no receipt of my stay. Did not ask for the key card, so I had to return. No points on my app and no record of my visit. You should feel welcome at a hotel. The front desk was cold with no interest in trying to help. This hotel is not value for money as a single night with parking is $310 excluding food. You can find a much better deal in Brisbane with friendly staff. I will never stay in an Ibis hotel again. The staff are an important part of the hospitality industry and should know how to assist with parking when coming from another city. Cold as ice.
