This has to be the place to stay in Luxembourg - location is ideal as a base. Friendliest and most helpful staff I think we've ever come across - Kevin on reception who responded to my pre arrival email and greeted us on check in but also all the staff we met during our visit. Lovely superior rooms on the 6th floor with superb views of the city. Nice rooms with comfy beds, odd shower/toilet arrangement as others have noted but not an issue for us. Free minibar with coke and water, kettle and coffee maker also. Some items of furniture need a little modernising (e.g. the desk in one of the rooms was a little too wobbly!) but overall a lovely room. Breakfast is pricey at €35 per person but children are free and both the choice and quality is excellent - the omelette was superb as was the tea and coffee. Again great views, this time from the 8th floor. Location is spot on - the number 29 bus from the airport drops off right outside the front door and goes every 10-20 mins. A 10 min walk across the bridge gets you into the centre of the old town or a 5 min walk down the hill gets you into Grund. If you want to travel to Kirchberg you can catch the tram from Pl de Paris, about a 10 min walk from the hotel and this takes you all the way to the LuxExpo and back. All the public transport is free which is great. Enjoyed walking around Luxembourg city and taking in the sights. Struggled to find anywhere for dinner on a Sunday night and Monday afternoon - not much seems to be open on a Sunday so bear that in mind if arriving then.

Totally loved this hotel. Service from all staff was 5* plus. So helpful and so willing to assist. The room was great. Very different but we loved its unique aspect and design. Level 8 with the view is totally amazing. Restaurant I will review separately- was fabulous. All easy walking to old town and all it offers. Valet parking on site - yes. Thank you Sofitel Luxembourg

Nice hotel for two nights

We had a nice two night stay here. The bathroom set up is fine for a couple but the shower situation wouldn't be good for two friends or two people who are not a couple. There isn't much privacy in that part of the bathroom. The shower itself was fantastic with great water pressure and a rainfall shower head. The bathroom sink/vanity was nice and spacious. The only thing that was a bit strange is that we came back to the room around 5 pm and housekeeping never came. Apparently you have to put a sign out if you want them to clean your room, or at least clean it "early." I had also called reception to ask if they had a more firm pillow and they never called me back.

We stayed at this property for two nights. The rooms are very nice, clean and spacious. Set up of shower partway in the bedroom is strange but didn’t really bother us. This probably wouldn’t be appropriate for two friends travelling together. The bed was extremely comfortable - sheets and pillows great. Amenities such as the shampoo body lotion etc were of good quality. Nice turndown service with a chocolate and slippers left at the bedside. Bose system for attaching your device is provided. Great coffee maker and supply of teas. Nice to have a mini fridge with complimentary bottled water. The location is good. Very easy walk to the main part of Luxembourg Old Town within 15 minutes. Some nice restaurants in the area including Cyrano which we would recommend. Parking is at an extra fee. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Even loaned us an umbrella for the day.

Superb experience at this hotel. Very clean room, comfortable bed, good sized shower and all the facilities you'd want like shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and slippers, fluffy towels. Nepresso machine which was great. Bit strange that toilet was in separate room on its own but I've read that's a common thing in some places in Europe. Shower was also in middle of room, as bathroom not closed off so could be a bit uncomfortable if sharing with a friend or something but as solo it didn't matter to me! Loved how big it was and powerful shower, good pressure. Room was a very nice size, bigger than I expected from the location. Staff were superb, fantastic service. I was late checking in because my flight was cancelled and I think they felt sorry for me and upgraded my room to have a city view, which was so nice and the view was sensational. Breakfast was great, I just had the continental things like Yoghurt, pastries, etc but there were eggs, sausages, Mushrooms to get too. Sometimes it took a while to get a coffee as staff were busy at times but that can't be helped. Bar was magic with fantastic views and again too service. Loved my stay at the hotel and would definitely recommend and would again if went back to Luxembourg City. Great place and best view from whole city.
