Nice situation in the Sheffield suburbs and plenty of parking. I had a nice room overlooking the lake. However the hotel could do with having some money spent on it. My room was clean but the carpets were threadbare in parts and the bathroom seemed ancient, with cracks in both the toilet cistern and the sink. Staffing was a bit suspect. At reception, one person did all the work while someone else just stood there staring into a laptop and studiously ignoring the gathering queue of people waiting to check in. At breakfast, we had to point out that we needed more plates. On the whole though, it was fine. Quite a nice atmosphere and the staff were all very polite. The room cost was reasonable (under £100). I think that with some capital investment, this could be a really great hotel. At the moment it’s a little bit mediocre but with considerable potential.

The staff, Lisa in particular, are lovely helpful and willing to try and make your stay pleasant. The rooms I was offered are tired and dated. The first room was really poor, shabby and in. Need of renovation. The room I was loved to though better would still not have been offered in many hotels. The grounds are beautiful, the spa is good. However the room is not one I would stay in again. There were no other rooms available

Lovely hotel, staff very nice Lisa was lovely very helpful and nice and bubbly very professional, nothing was to much trouble The grounds are beautiful lovely lake to walk round, food was very nice. We stayed for 8 nights Would definitely go back

Absolutely dreadful hotel, very dated shabby and dirty My son was in a room with dirty and stains in the bathroom- changed room and then had to change again at midnight as the heating was stuck on - after waiting for a maintenance man who knew less than him and just told him to go to reception to change room again. Dinner in a separate dining room (because of an event) was laughable the service was very slow and it seemed that the service staff had had no training - very amateurish Only people that was any good were two women receptionists and the breakfast manager I can’t get over how poor everything was even the blue paint which had been applied randomly perhaps in an effort to modernise the decor (it didn’t work) was so badly painted that it had dripped and dribbled over skirting boards Bedrooms dirty - in one room coffee had been spilt as if a cup had been thrown at a bin and the stains remained down the walls Some of the rooms were a really long way from reception with no lifts
