After staying at Four Seasons for years, we decided to try Raffles to celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend. We live in Manhattan and drive in to visit my blind 83 year old mother every other month to take her to her doctor appointments. I spoke at length with your representative to book the room. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, the most important being the promise of a 1pm early check-in to allow us the time to bring mom to four appointments. Your representative offered incentives to bring the price down to the Four Seasons rate. She also offered complimentary breakfast. We arrived at 12:50pm, and while your customer service agents were incredibly kind, they asked us to wait 20 min. For our room to @finish final inspection.” Sadly, the wait continued for 70 minutes until the room wasn’t ready until 2. That meant canceling one of my mother’s essential eye doctor appointments and rescheduling the other three. Time with my mother and teenage daughters is precious and our finely-tuned schedule had no wiggle room. Dinner that night was disappointing. Being blind, my mother eats very slowly so we asked the server to bring the appetizers out far ahead of our main courses but everything arrived at once. We ordered your Boston Creme Pie, as that was always mom’s signature dessert but it was dry and overly sweet. Out of the four of us dessert-connoisseurs, it was left half-eaten. In the morning, after breakfast, I expected to be charged only for my bagel. Instead the bill came with full charges. I spoke to Maureen who insolently challenged my assertion that the initial customer service representative had promised complimentary breakfast---which is clearly stated on my reservation. She said she could only honor the offer if I could provide the rep’s name, which I promptly did. We have never encountered this level of insensitivity and lapse at the Four Seasons, which we will be returning to after this disappointing stay at Raffles. You have a stunning hotel and many wonderfully kind staff members. I hope that with some small shifts in customer service and protocols, you will achieve the level of care that you promise.

Our stay at the Raffles Boston was incredible, we were there for our daughter's graduation and not only the rooms were lovely but the butler and concierge services were amazing. From getting flowers to arranging dinner reservations. We would love a repeat when we go back to Boston.

I was disappointed by my experience at the new Raffles in Boston. I was there with three girlfriend’s the celebrate my 50th birthday. Upon arrival they didn’t have adjoining rooms. They said if we wait a few hours they could have adjoining rooms. We waited only to find out they were NOT. They were next door to each other. Furthermore, when we were sitting in the room the lights kept turning off. I called the front desk and they said they’d send our butler to look at this. No one ever arrived. Overall, I would not stay at a Raffles again. I expected more of this hotel.

Rooms are very small and because they are located on lower floors very dark with bed views. Windows were filthy and there is no “butler” service only annoying texts that woke us up. The building is very well engineered and quiet-no street noise at all-unlike 1 Dalton. The focus is definitely on the common spaces and dining.The lobby and restaurants are beautiful and the food was good. Location is great-Copley and huge Tatte across the street. Valets and front door staff were completely unresponsive and we had to search them down every time we drove up.
