We had an amazing 5night stay on level 58. The staff were friendly and polite. The location is fabulous. The apartment was great. We had a very relaxing time by the pool and spa. Everything is close by, the restaurants, bars and cafes. The ocean views are amazing. We will visit again. You really don't need a car as everything is walking distance. I definitely recommend staying at peppers Soul.

We absolutely loved our stay. All staff, particularly the fabulous team at reception, were amazingly polite & courteous. Our room was extremely spacious (sub-penthouse). We had 2 adults & 3 kids and there was plenty of space for us all to relax & enjoy. The views from every balcony were breathtaking. The WiFi is unfortunately slow, and the real downside for a 5 star resort was unfortunately the house keeping. For the price paid I really would expect housekeeping to be up to a much higher standard. I found I did much more cleaning on a holiday than I perhaps ever had, and had to leave polite notes for housekeeping to tend to simple things like restock sugar and ask, or again, politely insist, things like bedding be changed etc. That said, when I did ring guest services for things like extra towels, they were there at the room promptly with them. I am extremely sympathetic to staff shortages but again, for the price of the accommodation, and being a 5 star resort, I do really expect better. Aside from the housekeeping, we had a fantastic and very enjoyable stay.

Enjoyed our stay, however the wait times for the elevators was frustrating, although I think we were warned there was maintenance at the time. Allow 15 extra minutes when going to the car park as you have to park on B3 and wait for the elevator it takes time. The furniture in the apartment is getting a bit old and could use an update. Was great to have the apartment cleaned daily. The gym is well equiped and the pool is great but May also need a bit of an update with the metal canopy over the area looking a bit rusty. Overall a good stay, prob a bit over priced.

Unbeatable location but our apartment was run down and in need of repairs.

Dear Peppers, My review here is in lieu of a less than ideal Google Review. I saw a sign at my car dealership 40 years ago: "If you are happy with our service, tell your friends. If not, tell us". That slogan stuck in my head over the decades, because it made sense, but only if the merchant listened. We had a relaxing and enjoyable time at Peppers, as we have done the previous two years. The location is truly unbeatable, and the absolute beachfront near the restaurants and shops a blessing. I should add that my partner, Emily, has autism, and as a carer, Peppers offers me a much needed break and convenience of everything nearby. Room 6102 has stunning of the ocean and southern vista, but we had many problems, including an ensuite toilet that did not flush properly, a kitchen tap that is old and leaky, and many issues with the TV, Foxtel and the WiFi due to a bad setup of the TV and lack of streaming movies in any of the other 3 TVs. "Yes" we called maintenance, but some things could not be fixed. The spa bath pump startlingly turns itself on after we have dried and gone to bed, on one occasion we leaping out of bed in fright. I spent days and then half an hour making a video for Hans, because I knew that this was a fix-it mentality, because I have to prove to him that there was a problem. We called your staff on 5 or 6 occasions. I spent an hour videoing the spa because maintenance need proof. I mentioned to Hans that the Resort seems to operate on a "something is broken, guests complain, so maintenance fixes it" mentality. I maintain my car and property like everybody else, on regular servicing so that I am not broken down on a lonely highway. I don't wait until the car has broken down, call service, then fix it. But Peppers seem to run according to that model, using their guests as guinea pigs to discover those owners that neglect their properties. If you inspect 6102, the floor is a mess—wine and tea stains embedded in the porous tiles. No fault of your excellent housekeeping-just a problem with owners not taking pride in their properties. A toilet flushing poorly is evidence that some of the owners of these properties have probably never stayed in the property, and never want to spend one cent more than necessary. We had so many problems with the TV and called maintenance several times, that I was compelled to turn the WiFi off. Peppers Soul finished construction in 2012, but Room 6102 looks like it had 20-30 years of wear and tear. We have stayed at The Langham in Melbourne, and hotels in Europe and USA, and they are all true 5 Star standard hotels. We live in an apartment in Melbourne, and are familiar with the challenges you face, with investors not wanting to spend any money until there are complaints. Most developments now are run by Owners Corporations with no interest in anything but the bare minimum of maintenance to the Common areas. Our room fee of around $600/night ($6000 for 10 days) is amongst the highest I have ever paid for a 5 Star room. I spent considerable time, money and energy on repairing the problems for the owner of 6102, and am unimpressed by their lack of care for guests. We see Peppers as our annual retreat, and would be most grateful if you could draw our concerns to the attention of the owner. Guests spending part of their holiday as concierge for your maintenance staff is not what I call a good business model. Houskeeping were professional and attentive, and Hans was knowledgeable and resourceful, but the plumber could not fix the toilet, claiming it was up to the owner to replace the cistern. Overall, Surfers Paradise is a wonderful location, and Peppers is absolute beachfront (more or less), right next to Cavall Avenue—ideal for me as carer of my partner. Please encourage owners to live in their apartments for a few nights, or at least conduct thourough inspections for wear and tear. As with last year, the lounge area couch sags at the front—a cheap couch given heavy use wears out quickly. Kind regards William and Emily
