Terrible Room

The room we were given was terrible. Not a Peppers standard hotel room at all. Very disappointing. We were moved to another room due to air conditioner problems (on our last night, although we'd already moved our flight to leave that day because we weren't enjoying the accommodation). The new room was definitely Peppers standard. It was very nice. Very disappointing that we had to stay 3 days in the other room and cut our trip short.

We had a nice holiday, but I don’t feel like peppers provides the 5 star experience you pay for. We were a family of four with a 21 month old and 4 year old and we were located on the third floor up 3 flights of stairs which made it very hard to navigate around the hotel. We were unable to change rooms to a lower level which was fine, but would have been good to know there were accessibility issues for young kids. On day 5 of our 7 day stay, there was intense jack hammering and construction in the rooms close by, our whole room was vibrating and so we were moved to another room as it was set to continue for two days (also up 3 flights), we appreciated the move, despite the huge inconvenience. However the new room had ants crawling around the whole apartment. Predominately all over the kitchen bench, but also across the living room floor, in the shower and in the other bedroom. It was gross, I kept wiping them away off the bench and they kept reappearing. We couldn’t keep any food in the kitchen or anything on the floor. When I explained the issue to management they just apologized and said it was strange, I didn’t feel this was a satisfactory response. Both rooms we stayed in were very dated and the couches were so uncomfortable and old and sunken in. The breakfast was very average, you can’t get a coffee there between 2.30pm and 5pm as the restaurant closes and you can only access the beach bar. There is no room service. The meal at the restaurant for dinner was ok but the mocktail (margarita - no) was undrinkable. I also learned from other families at the hotel that you could rent out rooms at the peppers through air Bnb at a much cheaper rate so I would probably look into that if I was to ever go back. The pool was great for the kids and the staff were all very polite and lovely.

The jackhammering works originated from a room that is privately managed. We were unaware these works were happening. Had we of known we would never have allocated you in the same vicinity. Once it was reported to us the situation was escalated to our body corporate who instructed for the works to cease the following day. We have commenced refurbishment in our rooms however this will take time to work our way through the rooms. I will continue working and coaching our teams on how to better deal with the ant situation you mentioned. We had a 2 bedroom pool view room. It was very spacious but not to big. Good sized fridge. Clean and nicely furnished. Beds were extremely comfortable and overnight was quiet enough for sleeping. The staff were always friendly and helpful.
