Booked a day room on line to use on our way back from Dubai to Adelaide. Really impressive hotel with friendly checkin and very appropriate room. Had breakfast in the modern and comprehensive Clove offering on the ground floor. Brasserie also on ground floor for a light lunch - excellent! Adjacent to the Fairmont for Accor members.

From the moment we walked in the doors of the Swissotel Stamford Hotel, our experience is something that we will forever hold fond memories of our 1st trip to Singapore. The customer experience is something that all hotels need to base their customer service on. All Staff members are friendly and well-experienced, with a special shout-out to Cheary, Roderick & Jayreen for their service and attention to detail.

We had a nice 3 nights stay at Swissotel Stamford. Arrived at the lobby and assisted to the lift to go up to level 65 for check-in. Check-in procedure was done by a very friendly and helpful staff Jayreen. She help to combine my bookings as I had two consecutive booking and also upgrade my room to Signature Suite. The suite was nicely designed and big enough for two of us. It offers two balconies, one with city view, and another with the marina bay view. Welcome amenities were nicely presented on the desk and we had complimentary birthday cake because we are celebrating my wife birthday. The cake was amazing, credits to the F&B team. Breakfast is served at Clove restaurant and level 65 lounge. We had chances to try both locations. Clove restaurant spread was bigger but the restaurant is very crowded, we had to queue for a while before we could get a table. On the other hand, breakfast at level 65 lounge is more peaceful but with more limited spread. But I would say it is good enough as there are also mix of local and the standard breakfast foods. Evening cocktail is served from 5:30 to 7:30 pmat level 65, the food are all very good too. Alcohol are served during this hours. Pretty good wine and many choices of soft drink are provided. Credits to the lounge member ( Zai, who keeps topping up my wine glass every time it is empty. He is one friendly guy. Roderick, who is very friendly and helpful during our visit in the lounge. And Ronald, who help us with our check-out procedures at the lounge.) Overall it was a very pleasant stay at Swissotel the Stamford. Location wise, it is very close to everywhere as it is at the very centre of Singapore just couple minute walk from the City Hall Station.

Weird experience

We took a staycation for 1 night. We were pleased with the check in as it was smooth and fast. Within 10mins We were up in the located room. Room facilities were good . Bed was clean and the view We got was also very nice and chilling. However at night we had a little problem with the Aircon. It seems to be very warm. We tried adjusting to 21 and fan speed of 3 yet we felt the room was a little warm and we were actually sweating while sleeping. The next thing was the breakfast. My room was booked with breakfast. So upon check in we asked the staff about the halal breakfast and was told about the Asian Market cafe. However the saddest thing came was when we approached the restaurant for breakfast the next morning we got to know its closed for private event. Was simply told my the restaurant staff to do in Room dinning and the food will be send up. At that point we went down to the hotel lobby to recheck and this as we were not mentioned on this upon check in . Staff initially apologised and told us to try the in room dinning since they will send halal food to room. Than comes the next issue. When I called the in room dinning they simply told me only entitled to American breakfast, Singapore breakfast and continental breakfast. Like a standard in room dinning. When I told them what exactly happen as were entitled to the buffet breakfast and suddenly now it comes to I have to choose just this which is not a fair deal actually. The staff simply say sorry but this is what we can serve for room service. Going further I asked is there like any rice or noodles to choose as almost all the category mentioned was mainly cereal, bread,egg,drink. Than the staff told us yes there is Nasi lemak . Ok so we on to add on to the order. Later we know actually the nasi lemak is chargeable but was not told by the person taking our orders. It was only after asking Than was told is chargeable and was told to speak to hotel receptionist upon check out to ask them regarding the charges . This was really an unpleasant experience from a well known hotel. Firstly I don't think the private event is a last minute kind of booking. Also the hotel staff were not aware that there is such booking and hotel guest will not be allowed at the restaurant for breakfast. Secondly is the operator who took the order had no idea like what is happening and claims is just doing they job kind of thing . After a call to hotel operator which I am not sure who answered Than was told the manager has changed the nasi lemak to complimentary. Still we were not told by any the staff who took the order like a courtesy gesture of calling back the room and telling back to us that is complimentary. I had to check with so many people regarding one breakfast when it could have already been done simply upon check in by the staff . Really not satisfied with this service by the hotel.
