Overall a good stay

Jazzyjaq TripAdvisor review

Just back from a 4 day break, hotel was nice, we were on the top floor but still ended up having to drag our luggage up a flight of stairs to the room, it was spacious and clean, couldn't use the balcony as it was crawling with red spiders and if the doors were left open they were in the room. In all fairness we weren't in the room much anyway, but would have been nice to have the air run through. Small fridge, kettle and coffee machine with a couple of coffee pods, really powerful shower which was good. Breakfast had plenty of choice but not soon the hot option, bacon, eggs and toast. Plenty of pastries, fruit, cereal, cheese and meats. The hotel is a fair way from anything if walking which is what we did even though the train station was next door. If walking its 40mins to Vatican city, 1hr 30 to coluseum, plenty of ways to get around but we preferred to walk and see the sights. Overall it was a good stay, but think if we did go back we'd stay possibly over the other side of the river.

Very good apartment hotel with friendly staff

Very good apartment hotel. Everything you need is available. Fully equipped kitchen and a clean up to date place to stay. The building is almost a sort of brutalism architecture, which was a short phase in architecture, I love it! Make sure to book a premium apartment and ask for one that is not adjacent to the tennis court. Otherwise you won't get a quiet moment and be flooded in light even during the night. Balduina is a very green area of Rome, and well connected to the centre of Rom, the train station is next to the complex, even so the forest to enjoy. I've enjoyed my stay.

I nice apartment, staff are really nice, friendly and very helpful with travel hints and tips. We found the hotel a 30 minute bus journey, or train ride into the centre of Rome, but the public transport works fine. Breakfast was adequate without being spectacular.

As a family of five we were obliged to rent two apartments as the Adagio has a policy of not having more than four persons per unit. Our check in was ok, we were greeted by the front desk agent who was keen on charging the accommodations tax and security deposit. This seemed to be her main objective as she provided little information on ammenities or services available. I would not classify this hotel as a four star but rather as a two star. Daily housekeeping is not offered. Housekeeping and room cleaning is done once per week. When asked when I wanted my housekeeping, I requested it be done on Sunday. It seems the cleaning person does not do room cleaning on Sundays. I have been to many hotels and was quite surprised. In an effort to be accommodating, I requested that the cleaning be done on the Saturday. I was very disappointed when I returned late in the evening and the apartments had not been cleaned. I was assured by the evening manager that both units would be cleaned on the Sunday. I explained what I had been told upon check-in. He seemed very surprised and assured me both units would be cleaned on the Sunday. Upon returning after a full day of sight seeing I was less than impressed when I noted that the units had once again not been cleaned. I went down and met with the same manager who apologized profusely and stated that both units would be cleaned on the Monday. On Monday morning, I awoke and called the front desk requesting immediate cleaning. It still took a couple of hours but the units were eventually cleaned by a very upset chamber maid. She did not leave any coffee and barely left the required necessities in the toilets to accommodate the remaining five days of our stay. The hotel reception has a piano. I have two children who are aged 11 and 14 and who normally play piano on a daily basis. Upon returning from one of our outings at approximately 18h30, one of the played a few songs and the front desk agent (a middle aged woman) came and asked him to stop as she could not hear the person in front of her. I found this to be extremely rude. We complied, but why then does the Adagio place a piano in the lobby? Is it for decoration? This same front desk agent was speaking very sternly to an elderly couple who was checking in. I am uncertain what language the couple spoke but the woman very loudly told them, I do not understand. I speak English or Italian and can serve you in either of those languages but I do not understand what you are saying. The client quietly stated that she would continue in English. I found the customer service provided by the two older women at the front desk to be less than acceptable. I feel that you should hire mystery clients and see how well they are served. I would also recommend that you review the service and attitude of the blonde chambermaid. She seems absolutely miserable and would be best served to be employed in a position where she does not come into contact with anyone. I found that the rates paid to be at the hotel did not compensate with the level of service, amenities or location of the hotel. It would be very different if the service had been amazing. It is unfortunate because the evening manager was pleasant and accommodating as was the young gentleman who assisted us with our checkout. They were pleasant and an absolute pleasure to deal with.
